It's obvious that the commissioner is not going to do anything or fire these ridiculous umps, so maybe the players should start taking care of them , maybe tell the catcher do try to catch this 100 mph fastball and let it hit the ump in the mask or have a player just beat the piss out of the ump. That's the whole problem, the umps know nothing's going to happen to them. They are not held accountable, maybe have a salary to start every week, and for every bad all or other act the umps do deduct money from the salary, maybe the first bad call take 50 dollars, then 100 then 200 and so on. Buy the end of the week they maybe only get paid 10 bucks. Then you will start seeing them take it serious and a lot less bad calls.

I’d find it funny as hell. Umpires take so much shit, especially with that box on tv/replay. It’s not even the actual strike zone. Personally I think umpires at this level should throw players/coaches out immediately for any shit they give an ump. They’d stop pretty quickly.

I was looking for this comment. I totally agree. Somehow, MLB players and coaches are allowed to act like they aren't responsible for their own actions, throwing anger tantrums, rushing the umpires, yelling in faces like that is part of the game, but if an umpire takes the slightest offense to those personal attacks, the umpire is wrong. I don't agree at all. Both sides need to act like professionals and adults. What other workplace allows this kind of conduct? A lot of professional sports have normalized this sort of 'acceptable rage' that I think is insane.
