I work at American Family Field and I was there for the Zambrano no hitter vs Astros and for Mills in 2020. The Mills no hitter was so much fun for me because even though there were no fans in the park, I was still there working in the team store. I felt like I was the only fan at the no hitter. @@Nathan-kd9ud this is a very uniformed comment. You need to understand sports mentality. A batter's approach changes with the count and the consistency (or not) of the home plate umpire. It's the same thing with the mentality of the pitcher. Had the umpire called it a ball there is no telling what pitch would have been made next, nor what the hitter's approach would have been. That kind of thing is unpredictable.

It may not be as special/memorable as a starting pitcher finishing it off, but I don't hate on it like some people and definitely don't say "it doesn't count" lol... no hits = no hitter, simple. But it's still impressive tho, every reliever has to be on their A game. Sometimes it has taken 5+ pitchers to complete the game, they all have to deliver. And at same time make it even more embarrassing for the opponent...like they can't record a single hit vs whoever is pitching.
@SeerMagicX3 ай бұрын
It certainly counts. But it's certainly not as impressive. They should keep them in different categories for historic sake. No Hitter and Combined No Hitter.
