Dude, this video is so thorough that I think it is better than the manual. I could not figure out some of the auto play features other than watching this video. I deleted my first comment since fair should be fair. I encountered some issues with my B Beat at first but their support has been nothing but first class and willing to resolve all issues in a timely manner, very professional. Here are some lessons learned if you are a new user: 1. If you cannot connect to your B Beat, download new software and update your B Beat through USB. 2. If you cannot get sound from the inputs of your B Beat, make sure that your signal is not weak, it must be from the outs of your mixer, not just a weak line signal since the B Beat in itself does not have dedicated amplifiers for the inputs. 3. If you run stereo tracks (L for click and R for music) and load them into your B Beat, make sure to check what channels your tracks end up on. In some cases my tracks ended up on channel 2 and 3, and some ended up on channel 1 and 2. Some track were assigned to family "click" and some were not. And therefore some get assigned to the "click" control and some not. If you run stereo tracks I recommend that you split them in your B Beat and assign the track with your click to the family "click" and assign the track to output 3, then you can control the click volume by the click knob.

Amazing Device!. It does all the things that Ableton Live can do in a single Box! Really Impressive. I Would like to know if it is possible to use the scenes as loops and change it synced in time (1 bar/2 bar etc..) with a footswitch press action as we usually do in Ableton session view with midi foot controllers. Is it possible? Im asking it because I do an a/v guitar live performance with a lot of flexibility and normally I avoid backing tracks because of its linearity. Thanks in advance.

Do you think this could be used as a player directly to 6 speakers, without a mixer inbetween? I'm looking for something that is also a standalone multitrack player for an audio installation, and this would be perfect! And did I understand correctly that the click output could be used as a 7th output? For subs for an example. Thanks so much for this in-depth video!!

The B.Beat outputs 1-6 are line-level and balanced (TRS jack) and can be connected directly to the amplified speakers, avoiding the use of the mixer. As for the headphone output (the 7th named output I imagine) the signal is stereo, unbalanced and with the specific levels of the headphones. If necessary, it is also possible to connect this to one (a pair) of speakers but with slightly reduced performance.

Great review. I see you can use an external pedal to pause or stop the current track. Is it also possible without midi to have a simple 3 button pedal where one cycles forward through the songs, one cycles back and one pauses the current track. That simple functionality like the P1 on the floor is important to my use case. Thanks

Thanks for your message! For the MIDI track you can do as you like: you can pass it along with the audio tracks, or you can insert it later. When you import you can choose whether to add elements to a project, such as audio, midi or video tracks, or lyrics and scores.

Hello Scott and first of all, thank you for your videos! my question is about midi and dmx controller. Is the B.beat able to read a midi file that was programmed in Logic to control a dmx? This B.Beat seems really incredible, this could be THE update to replace my backing tracks player : The Boss RC2 - which works very well ;-)

I'm really impressed with my new B.Beat. I have some questions and, unfortunately I have not found the answer. It's about the ability to charge and use lyrics for a audio project. I have seen and used the project demo, and with mi iPhone and iPad (using the Prompter App that you suggest), I can see the lyrics and the chords for this audio project when I play it. But, I have charged a own audio project test, with a pdf, and I have followed the instructions as these video shows, but, en the prompter app, I can see the name of the pdf, but the app can't show any page (actually the app says "Page 0 of 0", and I can't use the lyrics with these audio project. Can you give any solutions of these troubleshoting, or any email to contact someone to help me to solve my problem? Thank you for your time, advices and attentions. Regards

Hey Scott thanks for the video, out of interest have you attached you BBeat to a variety of projectors, TV's, LED walls etc? - I have experienced problems especially with my Panasonic Projector and TV, neither want to work with the BBeat. However attach the BBeat to a cheap $80 Amazon projector or PC monitor and it work fine. Spoken to Tech support at BBeat but no one has come up with a solution and this is very worrying especially when I arrive at a show and the BBeat refuses to work with the in house projector or LED wall.

As I said, in the assistance ticket, it can depend on Panasonic (Projectors and TV) or cables. If it works with a cheap projector, PC monitors and also (as we have so many cases) professional led walls and other TVs and projectors your case is the one to be studied and it's not the standard. I like the machine and especially the show design software. With software available to do the same features, I am wondering what the main reasons for avoiding a laptop/tablet though? They seem reliable, good interfaces and robust. IS it mostly to remove the distraction from the musician and the audience? Thank you.

There is no single answer to this question. There are many elements that make B.beat a comfortable and reliable machine on stage. I hope I answered his question.

I really more curious what makes laptops or ipad undesirable. That seems to be the reason for this. i like it really but I have little experience using a laptop or ipad and I'm putting together a small show here in Vegas. IT just seems that OnSong can do all of this but I like your show design software better. It's a small company and software is a little janky though. Thanks. . @@m-live

@@joephillips7612 Generally we don't like to speak badly of other products, we can only say that a PC was not created specifically to play on a stage. It can do it, but it wasn't designed for that. We make machines dedicated to specific functions, this makes them comfortable and above all reliable. Since they do not require other peripherals there is also a saving in terms of costs, cables and time.

Thanks. It does seem simpler on stage- especially for a drummer or person that did not design the show to just push play and pause, etc and not have to worry about specifics. It's not talking badly about a specific brand or anything. Your video's tagline includes 'without the PC" so I was simply asking why is that good. It's not as obvious to some of us KZbin viewers what the advantages are to go 'without a PC'. Make sense? iPads are crazy reliable now but I still wouldn't trust them with a drummer. (LOL) @@m-live

@@joephillips7612 Sometimes what causes problems are conflicts between various software and drivers. In general, the reason why a dedicated machine, such as B.Beat, is preferable to a PC or Tablet is linked to practicality, speed, ease of use and reliability. As you say, it's much easier to have to press a button with a specific function, rather than loading software, connecting peripherals and dealing with all the technological issues. We have noticed that many musicians perceive this simplification as a great advantage.

Do you think you could use it without DIs before going into FOH/Monitor mixer. Right now I'm using a Radial DI8 between my audio interface and the mixer but I'm wondering if I could just use a TRS to XLR snake and go into the mixer with this thing. Have you tried it like this?

The B.Beat outputs 1-6 are balanced with line level signal. You can avoid the DI Box unless it's required by other constraints such as mic level input required on the mixer or ground noise issues.

Thanks for a very thorough run through. I've had this device for a while. I thought it was very difficult to use at first but it actually didn't take all that long to get used to it and I like it now. One thing I noticed is that when using software in Windows you have to ensure that your display settings are at 100%. Some of the options disappear form the screen, if like me your display setting were defaulted to 125%. The default language is Italian and I couldn't find the option to change to English until I changed display setting to 100%. What I am missing is the teleprompter app. I wasn't aware that there would be a teleprompter option. I use ages making multiple pages of pdf to skip through to simulate a teleprompter. If you could do a demo on the pdf and teleprompter I would appreciate that.

Thank you for your message: the App Prompter is available for Apple and Android. You can download for you cell phone or tablet, it is free of charge. It's really easy to use. You have to connect B.Beat via wi fi with devices.

For the moment, PDFs cannot be sent to the HDMI Video output. If you need, you can make a video with the lyrics of the songs. We are working for the possibility to send lyrics on TV, stay tuned.

Especially the volume button is in my case a little bit wobbling … also a device that has made for live use must have a internal power supply or at least something more sturdy instead of this small usb-c port.
