Heres how to make MM feel better. Make Chimera shot hit like it did in MoP (Remove the split damage) and have it give focus. Make Aimed shot castable while moving or at least give us a PvP talent or set bonus with that effect. Also make lock and load have a higher proc rate.

Xibbas don’t even need it too be casted while moving. If aimed did best dmg while standing still, but still got decent dmg with arcane shot on the move would be great. It’s sad too see all the pve hunters feedback on the spec that make the spec just overall bad in pvp, when it could be great in both pve and pvp with cata/mop rotation and design.

I really like this pre WoD/Legion mentality of Blizzard just adding fun stuff into the game like the wallhack ability of MM hunters without thinking about balancing first. Create a fun Game, add flavorful class mechanics first, then try to work some balance in while keeping the fun parts as much as possible, this is what I've been missing pretty much since WoD release.

Disagree, MM is so weak in arena against a pillar hugger so many people will only take BM because of it, it's a 10second window every minute to ignore this which makes MM very viable now in arena, there's only 1 MM in BFA above a 2.4k rating which shows the class needs support for people that enjoy the spec but also want to compete without being a cookie cutter spec. They will likely nerf the duration but is MUCH needed for MM

Also this will only be usable on 1 pillar.. So all the healer needs to do is swap pillar but the few seconds you will get to fire in this time could create amazing fight endings. Also means team can't easily win by a healer no skill running in a circle.

Hunter's Mark is stupid. It's just a debuff with zero interraction you need to maintain everytime you switch targets (and waste a global) just to do your normal amount of damage. I'd say remove the +5% damage component, give that 5% to Hunters flat damage and keep the tracking part.

I agree 100%. Hunter's mark is one of those abilities I think Blizzard was right in removing. I wasn't aware that it's on a GCD as well which makes it even worse. Blizzard said they would listen to feedback in terms of where the unpruning "went too far", so hopefully they listen.

I think there's a good direction with MM however I think it needs a couple more abilities to complicate it (even tho that may seem stupid) since its quite simple and SV is looking insanely cool with its ranged melee approach. Adding chimaera shot and sniper shot as baseline for example would instantly make it so much better BM ofc is and will always be the most boring spec in the goddamn game

Why do we still need to hit 3 targets for Trick Shots? WHY? Also, Volley over Calling the Shots (arcane and multi reduce cd of Trueshot)?? Aimed Shot needs a buff. 2+ sec cast and it doesn't even hit that hard (outside of Trueshot). Blizzard please. This video also doesn't address the clunky GCD changes with all of the non-damage abilities you NEED to cast before doing damage.

Steady shot also has a pretty long cast time with no real way of reducing it, minus that one poopy talent. I wish steady focus was baseline, and worked on your first aimed shot (consuming the stacks). Alternatively they could just give us what existed in cata/mop, where steady shot gives you a stack of the old "master marksman" talent (which I think is the name of the old talent, dont quote me tho), where after 3-5 (3 in mop, 5 in cata) stacks you get a free + instant aimed shot. Either way, the GCD + the long cast times are why I can't really have fun in MM on live, and looks like it's continuing into shadowlands

BFA MM is pretty good ... said no one. There's not a single MM hunter in MDI/High keys or Mythic raid progression. On my server i'm ranked 217th BM hunter and 221st hunter. There's literally 216 BM hunter in front of me and only 4 MM or Surv. And it's not only about the damage. MM is probably the most frustrating spec to play right now. People who like it probably just quest and do dailies. It's a high skill low reward spec and there's nothing worse than that. It's like playing Destruction lock but without the ridiculously op cleave numbers and without the utilities (brez/summon/aoe stun). There's absolutely not a single reason to play MM right now. You'll do less DPS than BM and you lose the healing capabilities of the spirit beats as well as the stun. Just losing the utilities of BM is huge and would get you declined by about any serious Mythic+ group (why would anyone invite a dps without any utilities) but you also lose the DPS as soon there's movement which makes it even worse. And it's not like you'll do more DPS on Patchwerk as MM you'll do the same at best. MM used to be a high skill high reward spec. You had a silence, a disorient, stupidly high Patchwerk dps. Yes you had to work hard to parse well on fights with lot of movement (before the removal of the deadzone and after that when AimS was not instant) but man the numbers when you were able to actually DPS were stupidly high (like destruction lock is right now). If i'm shooting peas instead of bullets i might as well ask my pet to dps for me ...

I’ve been playing hunter since I started playing in 2008 (as a 7yr old, I know). Was BM hunter for a year or two, went over to MM until I decided that I was Domming in PVP in survival. Then they just destroyed surv hunter right as I took a break second half of legion up until September of 2019 and I have been mm ever since. Mm really isn’t that terrible in PVP and leveling. The only issues are dungeons and raids when there is fire or a “move right now or ur big dead”. Making Aimed shot a moveable spell is literally the only thing i need to reign supreme again

black arrow isnt around anymore. Explosive shot has always been instant. This is a more dull version of explosive shot though, it deals damage when the duration is over 1 time. hits everything in 8 yards. Old explosive did damage 3 times.

How is hardcasting 2.5 sec aimed shots with zero haste any fun?! It's not. It needs some sort of mechanic to shorten this cast time by half or even to zero for some aimed shots. Pre-WOD marksman hunter had a proc that made aimed shots instant cast and cost 0 focus, WOD T18 set bonus made them instant cast by default. This isn't chaos bolt to justify such a cast time. It doesn't hit that hard.

pre-Legion also had Chimera shot. A reliable DPS that you could count on when there was lot of movement. Aimed Shot did not hit hard at all the last time i tried the spec at the beginning of Eternal Palace. Would not be surprised if my double pet Kill Command is as good. I've seen it crit for 300k under Bestial Wrath and Primal Instinct (150k x2). I've seen the chaos bolt of my lock crit for over 400k at the end of my Infernal and he's not geared at all.

Back on the old Survival talent tree there was an ability like that: Sniper Training - Increases the critical strike chance of your Kill Shot ability by Y%, and while standing still for 6 sec, you gain Sniper Training increasing the damage done by your Steady Shot, Aimed Shot, Black Arrow and Explosive Shot by X% for 15 sec. Now sniper training is just lumped into MM Mastery and gives you more range and damage.

My problem with MM is the survavibility. It really needs something more. And GCD wise, well it's super shit. They have to remove it from some spells because it's unbearable to spam Double shot/ HM/ 2,5 second Aimed shot / Burst. It's so slow in comparaison with what it used to be. Hope it can be playable again in Arenas.
