Coach John Kavanagh is the head coach of Straight Blast Gym Ireland. He is known as the first brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) black belt in Ireland, former professional mixed martial artist and also the coach of renowned fighters such as Conor McGregor, Makwan Amirkhani, and Gunnar Nelson. Coach John Kavanagh trains fighters for all levels - amateur, Bellator, UFC and other events. He trains not only Irish MMA fighters, but also MMA fighters from across the globe, of whom most come to SBG Ireland in Dublin solely for to train with coach Kavanagh.
