Thanks again for your great analysis and playing! Funny when you waved a finger at the frowning Chopin and chided him of writing hard etudes 🤣

Wow!!! This episode is super exciting. Just watched it on TV and then grabbed my phone to leave a comment. An inspirational explanation that is so clear and make us know so much more about this etude in just 33 minutes! We really appreciate and love the close-up shots on the keyboard and the slow motion part so much. The entire content of the lecture is just fascinating and powerful. Thank you again, Greg. How did I possibly miss this until tonight? It just popped up on my feed and is brilliant! It definitely inspires me to at least read through it a few times to feel the differences between the different sections it obviously requires a lot of energy and passion to polish it but I think even working on it a little bit will totally help ones abilities. I felt I couldn’t devote myself to it though until I put more time into the third Sonata. I appreciate the fact that you gave up on it once! that is encouraging to me. It is definitely hard to let go of a piece without feeling inadequate but for the first time on my life I understand that doing so sometimes is what is needed to bring it to the next level and I have heard several professional pianist say the same thing. I only wish that these processes had been explained to me when I was younger before I quit what a loss to not know this and to abandon piano playing because you thought you had no talent. Like for instance, today I finally felt I overcame the first hurdle in the fourth movement of the third Sonata in bars specifically 109-142, I noted the date I started and I have worked for seven months on that and I finally got it, not up to tempo but I’ve got the notes! Of course that’s not the only part that I work on but that particular section I had notated the date on. You’re right he is wicked! I have found him playing around with the pianist mind in the first Movement as well where the accents are syncopated in 31-34 and in a different modulation bars 142-145, (though certainly not nearly with the vengeance he does in the étude 10/10).. and while I can play the notes and I could play the accents I know that that section has not lifted off the ground so to speak, I know you know what I mean. It is still only “rote”. I have to be content with him for infinitismal progression I wouldn’t say on a daily basis but maybe once or twice a week I will feel the battleship turn very very slowly in the direction I want it to go. Can’t wait until tomorrows practice session. I could start as soon as I woke up and had a cup of coffee but I usually wait till noon so the neighbors can take time to brace themselves. Haha. Thank you maestro and at some point I would love to hear on your new competition that you’re writing today how you approached beginning it ..were you influenced by other music or were you influenced by only things that were inside yourself, by something Browns had said or done? I would be very interested in hearing your process when you have time of course and I’m sure others would be interested as well. We can’t wait until August 1. Fly!💓 Hugs and good productive days ahead

I spent several months on this one. I consider it one of the most difficult etudes from either set. And it requires a lot of stamina.

I have allways answered, when musicians and not musicians asked me the most difficult piece that I playd - that Chopins Etude. I have never been happy with the way I played it. Btw the second place: Brahms op. 119 no. 4, the Rhapsodie in E flat

Glad to chance upon your vlog. Prior to that, i have always wondered why some of the concert pianists were not playing the articulation as specified by Chopin. An example is Yulianna Avdeeva (no offence to her fans 😃. ) Thanks for all your insight.

Niedzielny spacer z Jezusem Był , przyszedł w mszy świętej wysłuchanej pobożnie . Teraz czas na spacer pójść , mam Go przed oczyma . W powadze chwili z kościoła wyniesionej , pójdziemy przed siebie. Dzień umaimy w zimowy poranek , mrozem kwiaty malowane . Ha, to niezwykły dar , że gotów Nam życie obdarowywać swoim jestestwem . Korzystam chętnie bo spacer długi się zapowiada , rześkim powietrzem . Nauczyciel wystudza emocje w rozedrganym umyśle , wycisza , upiększa . Gonitwy dnia codziennego daje odpoczynek , czas Jego lekarstwu dać. Siłą moją przeżywania chwil ulotnych a jednak prawdziwych . On to sprawia. Z nutek Szopena wyłowił wierszyk nastrojowy Ryszard 9 01 2022 w Bogatyni ( w tle Fryderyk CHOPIN Complete Works: Full Album )

Hi maestro, the edition I used is where there are slurs on every weak interval beat in the first two bars. I think the urtext edition is not the national polish one and the interpretation will be different with difference in slurring in these two editions. So is it recommended to follow the National Polish edition?
