What made me change my mind on DC was that Embedded where Dana tells DC that Jones just tested positive and the fight is off and he is just heartbroken but trying to keep the fight on, saying that he doesn’t care and is willing to sign a waiver to fight Jones regardless, man has crazy heart and competitive spirit, true legend of the sport.

@@rhettduncan6631 he talked a lot of crap to Henderson who is a very mellow guy, and hendo knocked him out cold and made him look really bad. He also intentionally kneed a guy in the head illegally because they had beef before the fight(he talked crap to bisping but it was clearly all in good fun and bisping took it weirdly personal). He could have got a dq for that fight but his opponent was a class act and let the fight go on and bisping proceeded to ko him, then continue to berate him, then go to his corner and spit on his coaches.. it was bizarre. He kinda did the same thing with the deaf fighter and was essentially a sore winner and insulted him after the win. I think he has some famous eye gouges too. He's still my favorite fighter of all time and I think it comes from his raw intensity but he has definitely made an ass of himself multiple times.

I don't think Bisping should be your favourite champion, as his reign as champion was one of the worst in history. He fought and almost lost to a 46 year old Dan Henderson who was #13 in the rankings, ducked and screwed Jacare Souza, Yoel Romero and Gegard Mousasi out of title shots ruining the division in the process. One of your favourite fighters though? That I can understand, even though I'm no fan of the guy. Good commentator and analysist though.

@madgavin7568 3 жыл бұрын
@@arizonatea3734 He was worse than Tim Sylvia. At least Sylvia was a two time champion who defended his belt against top contenders, granted the division was pretty thin back then but he didn't duck anyone. The champion does have some say in who they want to fight next, provided the opportunity exists. Jacare was next in the line for the title, and had Bisping been a proper champion would have given him his due with a title shot. But no, instead he said "I want Dan Henderson" and the UFC were perfectly fine giving it to him. After that Bisping still didn't want to fight the top contenders, and instead was open to fighting GSP instead when he made it known he wanted to comeback. For instance, the UFC offered Khabib a rematch with Conor after he beat Cowboy knowing how much money it would make. Khabib did the right thing and turned it down though.

@@clarkdark2906 Apparently the whole story where Colby only started the heel thing because his job was on the line is total made up BS. Colby actually was learning to become a heel the entire time by watching and participating in pro-wrestling gimmicks. Here's a 2017 article of him smack-talking Dong Hyun Kim and the last guy who beat him, which was before the Demian Maia fight. www.bloodyelbow.com/2017/2/3/14467718/colby-covington-eyeing-ranked-fighters-but-would-accept-easy-money-rematch-with-alves-mma-ufc Colby was on a lengthy win streak and had finishes on his record, there was no way the UFC was going to cut him. It frankly makes no sense either, especially since as Kamaru Usman was on the same path as well, back when he was known as a 'boring' fighter.

I thought Chael would be number 1 on this list. He's always had a fan base, but he had just as many haters. Not everyone liked his shit talk at first, they crucified him when he failed a drug test, and he won everyone back over because he was honest about his usage, he admitted to his mistakes, and he always showed up to fight the very best in the world. While i'm not a huge fan of his opinions on his podcast, i think it's helped people warm up to him even more. Plus he's still undefeated and undisputed.

I really liked Rashad, until I saw the way he walked into UFC98. He had this arrogance about him, like he'd won the fight before it even began. TUF10 changed my opinion of him again though, as he came across as a really good dude and from then on it's been impossible not to respect him.

I've been an mma fan for about 20 years and I honestly don't remember some of these fighters being hated, especially Rashad. I've seen thousands of fights, so I guess I might've just forgotten. I know it's not across the board, but it feels like more people (at the very least) dislike her more than like her.

@madgavin7568
@madgavin7568 3 жыл бұрын
Silva was still being unnecessarily disrespectful to Maia and clowned around like a jackass. Demian Maia is one of the most respectful guys in MMA, and for Anderson to be an absolute arsehole to him just baffles me. Anderson also outright refused to engage in the final rounds of the fight even going as far to hide behind the referee while a visibly frustrated Demian Maia was the only one actually doing something.
@ottebya
@ottebya 3 жыл бұрын
@@madgavin7568 yea I totally respect that read of the fight but again look at it from an intentional game-plan point of view from Anderson's perspective, Maia is crafty as hell at turning most striking engagements into an opportunity to get a hold of you plus Anderson is a counterstriker, so first of all this was REALLY BAD matchmaking, there was NO WAY these 2 fighters would deliver anything of interest but secondly Anderson's best and really only play to win was to try to disrespect Maia to the point he triggers him into frustrated offensive attacks that Anderson could capitalize on - it sucked to watch but it was literally the only move to make in a high level master chess match and you likely would have made the same choice given the variables yknow
@madgavin7568
@madgavin7568 3 жыл бұрын
@@ottebya Silva outclassed Maia so much on the feet he had the opportunity to finish the fight more than once, but he chose not to and wanted to humiliate Maia instead. Something that didn't earn him the respect of fans and least of all Dana White who as we all know was pissed off and embarrassed by Anderson's performance. I understand Anderson's strategy of wanting no part of Demian Maia's ground game, as Maia is probably one of the most dangerous grapplers in MMA. At the same time though, Anderson had no excuse to clown around like a jackass and not finish the fight.
