It is the referee's job to separate the fighters when the buzzer goes. If a fighter is in the middle of a combination, such as CB Rollaway vs Hector Lombard, that's not the fighters fault that the ref didn't intervene earlier.

As others have pointed out, Usman has a reputation for grabbing the fence to avoid getting taken down and faking fouls to get breaks. Leon fouling, getting a point deducted (deserved) and still winning anyway despite Usman moaning was a case of karma.

Since the rules are barely enforced, it is a strategic mistake to not deliberately and systematically break them. Give a knee to the groin, get a warning, no big deal. Poke an eye, hold the fence. Do everything once, and you have an advantage.

The end of the round is when "the referee has made the call of time", not when the bell rings. So it's the referee's job to end the round. Punches after the bell means nothing in mma. It's only a fool when a punch is landed after the referee stopped the round.
