Love the video but that explanation at 11:20 ish is bonkers lmao. It’s blocking the air from entering the window which is bad because it creates drag, drag reduces speed. Joey’s hand is not making downforce brother that made my day😂
@tinyrodent282112 күн бұрын
It's not exactly wrong, but the reason is. They definitely stick their hand out of the window to block the air, hence the webbed glove. The real advantage is that the disrupted airflow off the glove is not going to hit the spoiler, so the drag on the hand is far less than the drag would have been on the spoiler. So overall it's reducing drag.

one of the most interesting things is that many rule books are exclusive, not inclusive. They say what *not* to do, which leaves a lot of grey area since they don't specifically say what you can do. Thennn they put in fail-safe rules that say "don't do anything that's not safe or smart" so if you do find grey area, they can point to that rule. Apparently that's the type of rule they pointed to after the hail melon. They said well nothing says you can't do that specifically but we have this rule that says to be safe so going forward that move will fall under this rule
