How to update MMI 2G on Audi A6 C6

having just done this let me offer some tips. 1) if you have a version lower than 51.5 - then you need to update to that spec and then do a second update to 55.7 (the final version 2) The biggest problem I had was getting CD to go into setup - the trick is first press setup and then whilst still holding it down then press the return button (not both at same time as is suggested) hold them for about three seconds then you can then proceed 3) scroll down on screens shown because you have to hit the download button - where that is seems to vary between various YT videos

final thing I just learned today when blue-tooth was not connecting to my phone This is only required if your car is equipped with a Bluetooth hands-free system. Do the update procedure twice using CD2.

Preparation Make sure you have Audi Multi Media Interface 2G (MMI 2G) in your car. Check details in article Audi navigation systems - MMI RNS BNS RMC differences. Check you current software version and confirm that it is lower than 5570. Navigate to CAR → SETUP → Version and check SW line. First 4 digits representing the current software version. Update procedure can take couple of hours. It is important to eliminate any power shortage. If you are in poor condition, we recommend using the battery charger while performing this procedure. Turn any unnecessary devices that can cause battery drain while the key is in the ACC position (HVAC system, interior and exterior lights, audio system, phone charger). During this procedure do not use any electrical accessories (electric windows, power seats, central lock, electric boot lid). Take out CDs from the CD changer that's in the glove box or in the center console. MMI 2G software update version EU 5150 / USA 3360 / Russia 5540 - procedure It is possible to update to version 5570 only from software 5150 or higher. This step is necessary only if you are running a software version lower than 5150. Turn the key to position II and wait for the Audi Multi Media Interface to start. Load CD1 into the first slot in the CD changer. Press and hold the SETUP and RETURN buttons. After a couple of second hidden red menu will appear. Release the buttons. Go to SWUpdate → CD-ROM. Update CD content will be verified. Audio will mute. The list of devices ready for the update will appear on the screen. Scroll down to Start download position and confirm the update. This will take up to 40 minutes. Once the update is complete, you will see the update status. Scroll down to restart the MMI and press it. The system will reboot and return to normal operation. Remove the first MMI 2G Software Update CD from the CD changer. MMI 2G software update bluetooth This is only required if your car is equipped with a Bluetooth hands-free system. Perform the update procedure twice using CD2. You must do this twice when the first update procedure removes the memory of the Bluetooth device. it will actually install the new software the second time you run the CD2 update.

A small question. I have Audi A6 C6 but when I press on phone button on screen it says Telephone is not installed. So am thinking if I’ll update with them CD you sharing if it will fix this ? And in what format CD should be burned ?

Hello , thank you for video , i made update from 2007 to 2018 maps i remove old original DVD and upgraded to 2018 , upgrade is sucefully but how i change voice language sat navi ? i mean 》 after 500 meters turn the right ...i have in english i would like use Czech ... i cant find location where to set up ... thank you ....

Hm... no way to read DVD in CD drive. Something is wrong with your original DVD

Had the same issue. You have to burn the file on to a CD-R.

So I eject all the discs from the charger, insert cd1 in slot 1, cd2 in slot2, cd3 in slot 3 (all in the charger cd) and then just press the sw update? Please be more explicit! Thank you in advance!

Actually you have to insert cd1 in slot No. 1. After the system finishes with cd1 you should insert cd2 again in slot 1 and so on.

​@@zm6202 , this is no DVD, but 3 CDs. May be you can update your software in nearest VW-Audi service. Other variant is to download from this location: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CzF5aZ-ld2pttkKlIBmh4ct9iUDFuyhO to write it on CDs and do the update yourself.

Всъщност важното е да се запише на МИНИМАЛНАТА ВЪЗМОЖНА СКОРОСТ, която позволява записвачката. Ползвай дискове Sony, Verbatium. Но винаги има вероятност и самото устройство да е прецакано… все пак е сигурно на 15 години

It seems that you have a problem with the CD. When you write discs on your CD drive on your computer the speed should be MINIMAL possible - 8x, 4x or 2x. CD should be finalized too. It is important, that CD's have to be with good quality - Sony or Verbatim (for example). If this not help may be your CD player or changer is malfunctioning. Try inserting disk in different slots? shamarr graham

Unfortunately I does it almost 4 years ago, and can not remember what this message means. In my case everything was as it's shown on the clip. May be you should ask for answer Google?

i know it 1 year later, but this happend to me also, no device selected, i believe from the research i made that you dont need cd 2 unless your car has navi and other stuff that my car does not have, i did cd 1 and cd 3 after.
