I’m wondering why you didn’t use gesso first? Can you explain? You have a painting on the back of left paper?

There was no need to use any gesso to protect the previous page, which had painted paper strips glued to it. Also, I wanted the grid from the checkbook cover to show though the tissue paper I adhered to it. Hope that answers your questions.
