Dragonnest hit my itch for elsword. Had the best pvp system in whole game til to this day. Essentially stopped because of the absurdity of clerics in pvp ( Dragonnest was the only game where i really enjoyed pvp to its fullest. Got mad about their balancing in pvp at one point ) Around that time elsword mobile realesed, the disgrace of the game and very bad attempt to pilgrim to mobile. Same year around, other games from pc proved its possible to import their games truthfully and not like cashgrab attempt. Dofus, runescape and currently albion all succesfully important to mobile without shameless gaccha. They done so bad, they didnt even announce their server shut down. So they tried it out again with elsword luna and failed again. Although a upgrade it was still a cashgrab. (Dragon nest 2 was realesed same year i believe. Yet again proving to elsword devs, its possible to publish something rightfully and not scummy.) *Dragonnest had supposedly big p2w problem. But as pvp player i really didnt see a powergap and addmittedly stopped before it went downhill

The only game where i completly focused on pvp. It was balanced exept the classes itself. Which was the reason why i ragequitted. Ive never done that in any game before. Prior to dragonnest i was lookig for elsword alike games, had roughly same pvp combat system. 1 year later elsword realesed but in veeeery bad attempt. Same time when runescape and dofus came out on mobile. Of those 3 pc games, elsword was the only one who saw its playerbase as moneybags which ressulted them to go bancrupt. They done so bad they didnt even announce their death. Servers were online for 2 years but within 4 months you could tell nobody cares for that game. Dragonnest 2 was announced same as elsword mobile attempt 2. Actually hyped fot dragonnest 2 but my phone was on merge of death. I got so dissapointed with elsword evolution didnt even glimpse at the new elsword game. Til to this day i have this itch for the same pvp or something remotly similar to dragonnest / elsword pc

When dragon nest level cap was 20, the PVP was incredibly deep and it had the most insane community. Once the game actually released and they raised the level cap, it was great for a while, but the depth of mastering the level 20 skillsets were not feasible as quickly new skills and level caps were growing. At some point maxing a Dragons Nest account to IDK level 80 was relatively easy to speedrun I really miss playing Acrobat back in like 2011-2012

Well I first played Neverwinter MMO but that became boring after a while as everything was telegraphed. Then I discovered Dragon Nest and Played for a bit during level cap 40 but didn't hit max level and later returned during lvl 60 cap and played quite a bit during lvl 70. It was fun I really enjoyed playing the Acrobat, Saleana, Physician and Crusader. I converted my acrobat to the magic dmg sniper and that was fun too, but later after I returned to the game during 80 cap it was very different and seemed unsatisfactory to play the Phoenix nest compared to Orc Kim, Prof K or the other nests during 70 cap. Never really went into pvp just tried to not suck so much during the nests and didn't get geared enough for dragon nest of the expansion.

this is THE mmorpg for me. i remember playing it when i was a tween on RU server and the community was so warm and welcoming... we even celebrated the new years in-game (here it's more widely celebrated than christmas), and also even 8th of march, 23rd of february (kind of like the men's day here, although here it's very militarized -_-), 14th of february... i have so much good memories with this game. my biggest regret is that i didn't save contacts with anyone whom i played with, not. a. single. one. so all those people... i wonder how they're doing now and pray that they lead a comfortable life. meeting in a game and becoming friends for 5+ years and being able to keep this friendship through the years has always been a dream of mine. but doesn't look like it's gonna come true now, is it, hah? edit. oh also i forgot to mention that RU server had 80 cap for like a year or even more without any updates and online count was still stupidly high, that's just how it was

DN SEA is still very active on Discord and in-game because people no-life the grind if they want to farm gold. Dragon Nest PvP was one of the best implementations of 1v1 in action MMOs; that's why they had esports tournaments for PvP before they ruined it with unbalanced things. PVE players are not getting better either; it should be cool to raid, but the equipment requirements for even clearing normal new raids are just ridiculous. I mean, you need to cap like 50 different equipment bits, and they are all mandatory, with more than half acquired from 'cash'. But I enjoy where DN is still at its peak and it's super fun.

The question is, in the state the game is in, is it possible to solo play as a new player? The last time I played it was on the European server in 2015, it was impossible to finish instances like Sea Dragon, Black Dragon, Green Dragon and the like on your own, full party or an end game character, there was no other option, with so few people nowadays it seems to me that you need more than luck to form a party xD

The problem with na server is that the low player rate make the server players actually mid/end game gear that compete for the events that have really good rewards, as for content they release big content like 1 of a year and i mean a raid dragon like the future new raid is the bone dragon, and for the rest of the year the have mid tier events that they rotate in the year with reward that help the players to get more op, 1 last thing the gear meta is like a shop lost of things you need to have to be number one. You can check the ranking on town with N

Started playing DN back in SEA, from 2011 to 2014. Party all day in the dungeons to get levels or Nests then pvp later, with friends or randos. Ladder comp off 1v1 PvP or group comp on PvP. Gimmick matches like the zombie PvP is also fun. Then I moved here in NA. Unfortunately, when I played in 2016 here, the game was already in its decline. PvE is still OK because I never missed a party, so leveling or nesting is easy and the trading house is alive. Sadly, PvP is dead. I think I only did 2-3 1v1 PvPs and then maybe 1 to 2 group PvPs only. Last time I played DN NA was back in 2018. Wish we would get DN 2 because DN's PvE and PvP are amazing. Probably one of if not the best out of all the MMOs that I played.

It seems you have a special place in your heart for Dragon Nest,to reviewing it every year! Hehehe As a dinosaur of the game (playing since 2010s beta up till now, been to official servers of KR-SEA-EU-NA and currently again on Korean),i.must say that DN is a game of staying by habit and for it's action gameplay. The NA server you chose to review in 2024 might not have been the best choice,I know that the server is almost dead,SEA and CHN servers has the most players,KR that I'm in can't say it's populated but it's hella packed with Chinese whale players(we talking about thousands of dollars spend per month in the game). Dragon Nest lost it's shine years ago but not cause the game is recycled, but devs lost their dedication to the fun and turned the game to be a cash milk fest update after update. I myself, still playing out of habit, not so much like years ago, just the usual 'log, check, see events,do dailies, logout'. Last but not least, don't take as measurement of players Steam or social, first of all,Dragon Nest was always heavily relying on their own launcher and second, you MUST dig in to check about private servers and their populations(some up to 2000 players even) ,due to the fact that as I said above, devs gone more aggressively with the p2w more and more...

Hello from SEA. In our server, there was this shoutcaster, AikawaKazu, and one of the more skilled Blade Dancers in his videos was one called MizuEggu. I created a Sting Breezer when Lancea came out in our server and named her RainbowPWR and daydreamed about going into a match against MizuEggu and Kazu shouting out “RAINBOW POWER!!!” if I ever got a good combo going. This never happened, unfortunately, but it really got my imagination going.

Dragon Nest was really fun when I played it 6-7 years ago. The combat was fun. I got about 3/4 of the way to cap before I quit. It had a lot of potential, but the game was pretty dead. Just looked at Steam Charts and 5 people are playing and 15 in the last 24 hours. LMAO!

Dragon Nest was such a good Game... my issues with it always were that it got pretty grindy... pretty fast as F2P player. Which made it really difficult to play. But man, the Classes how they played, on that front Dragon Nest is top tier not only when it comes to MMO's but Games overall. So manny different Classes that all play so different and the Animations for the attacks are so dope. Like the Destroyer, such a dope ass class. Big AoE's, big Explosions just badass. I really wish someone would make a new Game like Dragon Nest, just with current technology in a similar art style and not P2W.

two games i will literally k*ll myself over bc of the nostalgia are maplestory and dragon nest. back when dnna started to die down i switched between cdn and dnsea because they had bigger populations so i could still enjoy some community. if there were any latency issues i dont remember them and the chinese community was welcoming and just absolutely booming. i think dnna's fall started when it got sold off by nexon and the eng translation went to absolute shit. the eng in the dnna and dnsea used to be different, like nexon hired a real translator and dnsea ran their dialogue thru google translate. after the sale of dnna, im pretty sure they just started porting the dnsea translation into dnna, so all the terminology got mixed up and the drama of the narration completely vanished overnight. once again the lesson is nexon is to blame... i dont even understand why nexon na sold their license--dnna was flourishing. i played this game since the day its beta testing got released, which was coincidentally my birthday. so many good memories
