I don't get it why there are so many dislikes. I am working on my f150 rally truck project. Filter relocation is one of many things needs to be done. You are the only one explained everything in details!! Keep up your great work dude

thanks for taking the time to post! great video. I think your AN hose was fighting you a bit, because after you use the tape to cut the hose, you should remove the tape just before pusding the hose side fitting into place. The fittings are tight, and intended to use matching hose and fittings (same manufacturer!) with very tight tolerances.

Man, you worked long and hard on correcting those conflict of parts. Chaffing between hose and anything else is a time-bomb, stuff moves around a lot more than you think while driving. Cut a larger piece of heater hose length wise and slip it over hose for protection, cheap and easy & last a long time.
@jetjoey197 ай бұрын
@KO-pk7df no chaffing. Steel braided for that purpose. It's been 2 or 3 years now, not even a flat spot.

Love your videos documenting how you're doing this stuff - good for kits like this that don't include instructions! Did you have to remove your alternator to remove the stock oil cooler manifold (not the sandwich stack...the stock manifold that the sandwich attached to)? I'm in the process of doing the same MMR Oil Filter Relocation/Remote Oil Cooler kit and can't get at the last bolt to remove...want to know I'm not crazy.
@jetjoey194 жыл бұрын
So what my set up has is the powersteering pump is where the alternator usually goes and the whole oil cooler and oil filter mount get removed so the mmr relocation kit is installed directly on to the block.

@@jetjoey19 Thanks for super quick reply! What thread 1/4 and 1/8" plugs did you use for the oil filter piece (not block)? Trying to see where I'll be able to find those locally - totally agree with you about why the hell didn't MMR include those on this $350 kit...

I went and got some brass plugs from Lowe's, brass and aluminum have similar corrosion resistance when put together, you add a different or stronger material, the aluminum will corrode prematurely. I believe one of the holes I used was for the oil pressure sensor and the 1/8" was plugged. Control packs don't require an oil pressure sensor so you should be good
@user-tg4se6op8n4 жыл бұрын
@@jetjoey19 Just got the brass plugs - last question before I get in on the install...how did you end up tightening the threaded coupler that goes into the oil filter housing and oil filter since it doesn't have a hex key or anything like the factory bolt did?
@jetjoey194 жыл бұрын
Ok, so that, has a barbed ring in the middle right? I put rubber hose on both jaws of some channel locks and used the channel locks to tight her up snug. Have you found the oil filter that fits the oil filter mount?

hi just wondering.does.this.kit fit defi racing.gauges 1/8 npt?i need to.install.both oil press and oil temp gauge,will this fit both? also.do.i still.use.factory oil filter with this kit? or need.special.one? thank you.very much
@jetjoey194 жыл бұрын
Hello! So yea, this kit has 2 ports, 1/4" and 1/8" for anything you need to plumb to it, it has an extra 1/4" provision right by the engine block as well. The oil filter needed for this kit is a WIX 51069 and you can also cross reference one to that number. I get the filters at any auto parts store. You cannot use the factory fulter size, it's too small.
