Installed the mmx 6.4 manifold swap kit yesterday along with one of their ported throttle bodies a cold air afe intake, cat back and new plugs with msd blaster coil packs . Seems to idle a little rough not stalling and runs well but of sitting it dips down a bit low and seems off a bit . I dont think I have any manifold leaks but it might just be how the larger manifold works at idle on the smaller engine . Installed a canned 91 octane Diablo tune gotta send my vin file off to hemi fever for custom tuning. Still have a set of long tube headers to install which im not sure if these will be harder or easier than doing manifolds on my jeep 5.7 because the strut towers on the Durango look to be ne larger and less room gained by pulling the fender liners . Oh well still a nitrous kit to install gotta figure out what switch panel i eant i think the charger cup holder will work and an automatic bottle opener 😅

Dude all those changes ya of course. Totally need a custom tune for that, how did it drive without the tune, biggest power difference or no? Hemi fever tunes are great, he'll get ya fixed up

@romper4444 Runs great the hemi fever tune was nice as it also changes some of the transmission shift points and gives a bit more rpm limit on each gear . The funny idle was a bad o-ring on number 4 injector letting air into that port after fixing that it ran great even without tuning , well LoL until I swapped in the brand new NGK iridium plugs I got for a "good deal" off eBay which they turned out to be fake and 4 of them lost their tips in 6/8 cylinder luckily they just went out the exhaust after putting in good plugs it ran great again then . The tune wakes up everything nicely it's got a lot more go through the entire rpm range especially mid the dual runner intake keeps it from losing its breath up top I've only ran it to 125mph but it's still pulling hard at 125 can probably easily hit 140 without the nitrous . Gotta drive more reasonable to keep the license so I'm not sure when I'll have a good chance to test the nitrous where it's not a loss of my CDL

On the wire that you hook up to the + terminal that goes to the relay there is an empty fuse holder to put a fuse in. Which fuse do I use or do I leave it empty??

How is this needed for the Ram 1500's with a 6.4 swap? I have only seen an extension for the SRV on the trucks? I have been running a FBO, cammed, 6.4 intake swapped truck without any issues so is this needed?

New ram 1500 manifolds are I believe already dual runner so the wiring was already there vs the other 5.7 platforms that only have the single runner intake and need wired up to run it . The newer vehicles do have the ability to be prgramed to run the srv but still need wired up the older vehicles do not have the programming in the PCM . I have a Durango and it is a 2013 pre 8hp70 and newer PCM it doesn't have the programming available in the PCM and needs everything wired up ...this kit already has the jumper harness built to get the rpm signal to the srv box which one can make but the kit in only $999 with all the parts needed 6.4 manifold srv controller harness and new gaskets can't beat the price unless you find a smoking deal on a used manifold which doesn't seem to exist. The kit also has the spacers to allow you keep running the stock 5.7 injectors .

Can i just weld the short route open and have short route the whole time and skip this, would that harm the car having short route whole time?

Long runner is for low mid torque and the short runner is for high rpm power doing anything like you claim would negate the benefits of using this manifold kind of like installing a 4wd output on your transmission and not having a front shaft .

If you do a 6.4 intake manifold on your 5.7 but don’t wire in the Short Runner Valve controller, you won’t get the full capability outta the new intake manifold. Lots of engine builders/tuners will tell you to just do a cam to get passed the dip that’ll you’ll have on a Dyno pull but this option is WAY cheaper than getting a cam installed. But if you have the money a cam is always worth it. Well that’s my .02

I just installed mine car still hasn’t had a tune yet runs fine but you’ll get the most of it when you tune it , the tuner can play around with the short runners to see at what RPM your car does most .i do Plan on getting the car tuned after I drop couple more mods

Just went through this question and tons of research through Diablo and MMX. It does need a tune but just the standard canned tune from Diablo or HP tuners. If you're thinking about doing this kind of stuff to your RT I would recommend buying the PCM swap initially and then all other upgrades after. It's not cheap especially if you want to keep your factory PCM as I did. You never know better safe than sorry. I get my intake tomorrow from MMX they sell a whole kit for $999.99. comes with this controller the intake and all brand new crap with the option to port the intake before you get it which you might as well do it's an extra like 250 bucks. The shipping is super expensive for some reason just keep that in mind. Once I get it installed and running I'll reupdate my reply with some new info and the info you want most likely 👍🫡🇺🇸

I also want to add if you're buying an RT post 2019 you'll spend less money buying a scat pack. I'm at about 11 grand right now and still have the cam to do. I got my RT stars and stripes right before everything got shut down from COVID. I got an unbelievable deal on the car which makes all these upgrades viable. I paid $33,995 for my RT. Scat packs are being sold in between 51 and 57k currently and the RTs are sitting at about 42 to 45K fully loaded for the RT Plus. After I get done with the cam I'll be sitting right around the cost of a scat pack with today's prices. If you buy an RT now you'll end up spending more than what you would for a scat pack and only get about 30 or 40 more horsepower with all the standard upgrades. Also need to add I've done all labor myself however I'm not doing that with the camshaft especially after the long tube headers. That was a fucking mess without a car lift. Also you're going to void the absolute shit out of your warranty if that is important to you. Standard upgrades -cold air intake ($500) additional 500 if you pick up your cold air intake before the 6.4 manifold swap like I did. -PCM swap($1200) -6.4 intake manifold swap kit from MMX ($1300 after porting) -full exhaust from the block back, headers high flow cats and a catback setup or take it to your muffler shop and pick what you want. ($3300, labor not included) -tire and wheel upgrade to 315s and the rear 295s in the front ($2000) -you will need a break upgrade, I got lucky the stars and stripes come with four piston brembo's (roughly$2600 without labor this is an estimate) -rear seat delete ($1000) 3.09 rear end ($1800, no labor included this is an estimate I have not done this upgrade yet) -lastly Whipple camshaft plus an uncanned custom tune ($4500 with labor this is just a guess have not done this upgrade yet) At this point you could also get into fuel injectors, fuel rails, throttle body, forged pistons, forged heads, transmission upgrades that will be needed past the 500 HP mark, more weight reduction, drive shaft upgrades, fuel pump upgrades etc.
