MN dental clinic that helps people without insurance slated to close

Dental insurance doesn't really cover much anyway. It's more a benefit than insurance. I have an autoimmune disease that damages my gums and its very easy to max out my plan yearly because the maximum benefit is so low. But for people with low incomes this clinic could be a lifeline, its too bad.

If you don't have insurance call around and ask the cost for a preventative visit and normally they'll work with you. Most dentists also offer 0 interest payment plans as well now. But do call and ask, some places are crazy expensive. (The average WITHOUT insurance is $75-200 and you can pay it with your HSA) Buy yourself an electric toothbrush, off brand ACT, floss and a water pick and you should be good to go. :) Its the cavities and surgeries that cost a lot, so if you can keep your teeth in decent shape not having insurance isn't too bad.

Dental care is ridiculously expensive even if you have insurance and you dont even get to see the dentist most times.
