3-year update: Wolves have moved in the area over the last few years and the deer are all but gone. I gave up deer hunting in MN for now. Best wishes to all of you deer hunters in northern MN. Hope you see more deer and less wolves in the next several seasons. What a shame for local businesses - that the powers that be can't get their heads out of their asses about the consequences of protecting wolves. #S-S-S!

I've been hunting kittson county for 22 years. It used to be very realistic to bag a 125+ inch buck on a wma, just find a nice patch of popples with some scrapes, 1/2 mile off the road and let the rut do the rest. Now unless you know someone with private ag fields, the wolves made it near impossible for traveling deer campers to have consistent success. Camps that have been coming up for 20-30 years are clearing out, it's sad really.

Any public land spots you’d recommend for a new hunter in Minnesota?
@UncleBucks4 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of it out there. I've repositioned 4 times in 20 years, looking for that better spot and trying to avoid other hunters as much as possible. Boots on the ground during season, post season and also spring time is a good way to learn different properties and find potential stand locations. Good stand locations require an investment of time and miles on foot. Good luck!!

@@eebee4062 I would think a person who says they have hunted as long as you would already know this, but other watching might not.
