WOW that's awesome, great use of the bar wood. A person could run boards though the table saw. Set up with a dado blade, cut out the 1/4" to 1/2" lap joint. I may try this with cypress boards.

Definitely... I don't have a dado blade. My tablesaw motor is pretty tired already... so I just ran them through two ways, but a dado vlade would be a better way to go. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Absolutely beautiful!!!! Speaking of log cabins our land we have in northern Minnesota had a log cabin on it built in the late 1800s we bought the land in 1963 we were able to use the cabin well into the 1980s was just really neat that those old cabins last for yrs and yrs

Thank you Chad! It's a great nostalgic feeling that you get from a vintage log cabin.

This is similar to how I want to finish my basement. I'm thinking about having the wood on the bottom half of the wall and the metal roofing on the top half. I'm not sure how that will look. Yours turned out awesome. You have some beautiful antlers hanging on those walls.

Thanks! I did a room in my basement like you described, but with weathered, rough cut boards vertically placed on the bottom half and corrugated metal on the top. It's a great rustic look also.

Thanks! I agree, a wall just isn't complete without a few nice bucks hanging on it!
