Inspired me to make a video of how i got my WPL to work with the plastic links and Metal Link axle mount. And the shocks. I totally put my Steering rod, on top and stacked. I need a axle servo mount someday. :)

I did that for a C44 build and some RBRC shocks. Got a bunch of slex and travel even with stock plastic parts.

I appreciate the video. If I could leave you with one bit of advice, try to move the camera farther away and zoom a little if necessary. Your hand is directly infront of what we all are trying to see all to often! Best of luck

Anytime I have something I want to focus on for an idea/mod, it's just straight off the hip. I'm pretty low budget, low effort on studio space, so I concentrate all my energy into getting the mod done. I used to do multiple camera angles but decided it's just not my gig. The very few mod videos I do are really just to get the bit of knowledge out to the world and production value is always secondary to me.

It's not bad, in fact i love it but I do wish it were a tad more hobby grade. 4 link suspension would be nice but it's great the way it is.

Nice video. Did you modify the spring's of the shocks? I did buy some injora 53 mm shocks and weren't able to support the truck weight, too soft. Please send the link of the shocks.
@VermontScaleCustoms
@VermontScaleCustoms 4 ай бұрын
Thank you! Nope. They came with 2 sets of springs. The soft ones were already installed so I swapped the stiffer coils on. The link to the shocks is in the description. I usually do that so I don't have to share the link for every comment that asks.

You should definitely get one. This mod changed everything about this truck. Just placed the order for a bunch of stuff to add on. I wasn't entirely psyched on it before. Now? Definitely.

have you tried adding orings in rear shocks to reduce axle movement?
@VermontScaleCustoms
@VermontScaleCustoms 3 ай бұрын
The objective is to install actual oil filled shocks on the MN82. I don't want to limit any flex, if that's what you mean. The suspension is so much better than how it was stock. Next up, I'll install some oil shocks on the MN111.

@@VermontScaleCustoms i mean it will reduce spring wrap i guess oring in front and the rear of the ball joint like on injora links for fcx24

Now I understand what you're suggesting but there isn't room on the factory ball ends to try it. I reused the factory rod ends and axle ball mounts for the lowers. Where the rear of each leaf mounts to the frame, I took 2 o-rings per side and placed them between the screw and the leaf and between the leaf and frame. Acting as a bushing for both sides. A little bit of thread locker on the end of the screw, leave it loose a turn or two, and it allows the back of the spring to move more freely. That really helped the problem more than anything. It helps keep the axle from loading up and then snapping upward. It just moves freely now.

I was looking at the thing all week trying to decide if I wanted to start sanding it. I got lazy and decided to start working on it instead. Now I like it. It has good contrast underneath. Just makes me want to paint the underside of the body so it stands out. You should get one of these. They're cheap and the mods are definitely priced right. Good size, too.
