I want to do this. I have done this stuff on boat engines swaps and I really wann do in my seirra 2013 and it has the bigger transition as an added option by original owner. Where can I start to look for an engine

You guys just swapped all the accessories from the 5.3 to the 6.2? Does the 6.2 have the exact same plugs and sensor spots?

quick question... my 11 Nissan versa has rod knock.. due a rod bearing fail... so now I'm sure it gonna need another motor... so if it's for same motor but from a different versa would there have to be any programming done???

Hello my name is Mr.Summerlin and i have a 2008 suburban ltz 1500 5,3liter engine and i want to put a 6.0 or 6.2liter engine in will i need a harness for a 6.0 or 6.2 to make it work or can i use my 5.3 harness?

I hopefully will have that video up by the 1st of July. Sorry for the huge delay. My tuner guy has been taking his time and yesterday I found out the #8 cylinder has a burnt valve. The cam specs are 224/230 612/612 116. It's a future boost cam so it's nothing spectacular. It'll really show its potential once I have the supercharger installed in the next year or 2 though.

If you can install a cam, you can most definitely do this swap. My biggest piece of advice is to do the VVT delete before installing the engine since you'll need to replace the cam beforehand. so there's no major difference between 5.3 and 6.2 other then cubes ? The two harness ? bolted right on to 4l60e trans ?

Everything bolts right up whether you have the 4l60 or 6l80. The harness is 100% compatible too. The 2 major differences are that you need to have the ECU flashed so it works with the 6.2. The other thing is you'll need to either do a VVT delete or swap the timing components from the 5.3 to the 6.2. Here's the link to a forum that helped me a ton. I just bought a 6.2 to swap in my 11 Silverado had a couple questions if you don't mind. Does the wire harness from the 5.3 work with the 6.2? Does the 5.3 throttle body work on the 6.2? And does all of the bolt on accessories from the 5.3 work on the 6.2? Also Thanks for the cool video series it answered a few other questions I had too that I couldn't find answers to

The harness will work no problem, all the accessories bolt right on (throttle body bolted on too). Even my headers, cold air intake and engine cover all fit like they did with the 5.3L. You'll have 2 connectors from the 5.3L harness that won't go to anything. 1 is for the VVT and the other is for the DOD. That's not a big deal since that'll get tuned out when you get your computer reflashed so the 6.2L can run. Very straight forward swap. No problem, feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I decided to make this series since I had the same problem as you during my initial research, lack of info and/or conflicting info.

Does it crank at least? Mine had power but wouldn't turn over or anything. Turns out we missed a very small ground wire. She starts now but still needs a tune. I did a cam swap and VVT delete on the 6.2L before installing it so I don't know much about the 5.3L to 6.2L part swapping.. Let me know if this helps. Nasser Al-Ghamdi most likely yes. All push rod motors are small and compact compared to DOHC motors like the 5.0 coyote. And most truck motors are actually just iron block vette motors anyway with the heads/intake swapped. That’s really all you need to do is find an old 6.0 from a junkyard and take the heads off of it. You could do the same with a 6.2 but you’ll have to bore the cylinder walls a little to fit a bigger piston.

Just buy a used L94, it’s the 6.2 that came in the Denali’s. It’s swaps right in, all you got to do it get a tune for the ecu

The engine was $4000 used and the computer reprogramming was around $600. Everything is plug and play except for the VVT. You can either swap the parts from your 5.3L onto the 6.2L or you can buy a VVT delete kit for $130. (I had mine deleted). So it'll cost around $4800 plus miscellaneous fluids. I'd put aside $5000 if you're doing the work yourself. If you're wanting a shop to do it, put aside $8000.

Does anyone know can you make an engine swap with a 2009 Escalade for a 2011Escalade engine? If so why do they ask you for the VIN number the last 8 digits to see if they match

My guess would be that they're verifying whether or not you have a flex fuel engine. Are you swapping for a bigger engine or the same?

No you can add the cooler after it goes threw the radiator. I had a huge trans cooler on my 09suburban. Never had a problem even when towing.
