Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Lelkes Peter some of the farms I have seen in Europe are like a slice of heaven on earth. All the lush green grass and mature trees all over the place. Oh it’s so beautiful. If ever I cross the pond I would just assume drive around the rural and farm lands than visit the cities.

I love how you include your family! You should borrow a big bud for Welker Farms to pull that disk! Is the consequence to demo new equipment is to take a little while to figure it out and then by the time you get it figured out it is time to give it back. Zach and Becky the video editing is phenomenal.

14:50 satellite devices on the tractor and on the planter. I'm not a farmer, but was exposed to small-time Michigan farming in the 60's with my grandparents. It is so interesting to watch "MF" and today's technology. 50 years ago the objective was to get seed into the ground. Period. Today's soil, seed, yield, equipment analysis is almost mind-boggling by comparison. Such a great program.

It is amazing how fast your corn planting went! Several farmers have finished in this area of Texas. We got our 113 to 118 day corn seed in yesterday and put the planter in the shop to replace seed firmers, chains, closing, and gauge wheels. Seems like yesterday when last replaced. We will go about 500 miles in the field with this planter so it needs to not have in season repairs. We plant later to avoid June hail and better use of water which we always need more of. Hope this year will be our 300 bushel field average year. We will need it with the price of corn! We are leaving out 300 acres of dryland corners corn because of no subsoil moisture. Yesterday, I sighed foundation seed production contracts on 6 fields that will pay $1,200/ac. That will help! Hope your 500K subscribers will help!

When do you plant your end rows when you start the field or the end just interested cause I think you do it at the end but you don't why?

I believe when they were setting up the new planter, they do the end rows first. That sets a GPS parameter for the planter to stop the seeds as he's nearing the end rows to turn. That's what it looked like anyway.

Plant boundaries first so you know where to stop and not have overlap

We run a 12 row planter with a 8 row head. You'll be fine. It's not perfect in every spot but no big issues. Thanks for the videos.

Maybe a compressed air unit, self powered--could blast away sticky dirt, thru jets not interfering with the operation itself. that is, as the wheels are not revolving thru a working position, the compressed air could clean the surfaces.
