brian murphy I’m a Catholic from Ireland who would never have supported Rangers.But back then and even more now I feel Mo Johnston did a great great thing,he helped smash down a wall of sectarianism.He became a fantastic success at Rangers and I’m glad,even though I never could cheer for them.History will be very kind to that man,I have no doubt.

In hindsight, he went where the money was, and I respect that. However, as a former Celtic player he could and should have been a bit more respectful to the fans that had worshiped him just a few years earlier (for example, maybe explaining why things transpired the way they did and certainly not saying "I'll never play for another British club" and then signing for their bitter rivals within 2 weeks.) This whole fiasco also reflected badly on the Celtic management; business should have been done more professionally. Just my humble opinion...and I come from a family of die-hard Celtic fans.
