I’m confused with this commentary. What was DL supposed to do after she attacked his character? Oprah and Tyler have never told their side of the story publicly and because of it, everyone automatically assumes MoNique is right. She made a contract dispute with the promoters public information but instead of handling it legally or calling out the promoter, she decides to attack a fellow comedian and his family at the same event. She is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever witnessed and she tries to wrap it up nicely with that “I love us for real” and “my sweet babies” BS.

First, DL should have conceded. He career has been no where close to Monique. It was clear if they brought her in later they felt he could not carry the show. They lucky Monique didn't walk and sue. This happened all the time in the R & B world. Hell, Diana Ross in her contract with Caesar Palace said her name on the marquee and her name only. She arrived and they had Sheena Easton performing next week. Rumor had it, she sat in that dressing room, didn't budge until it was changed, and walked through the Casino in full dress, and looked at the marquee before she performed. This is their business. Who opens and closes any entertainment is significant.

I find it interesting that DL has a big time agency UTA backing him and doing his contract / deal memo. Mo had her own company and her lawyer handling her agreement. The deal memo in the entertainment industry is a contract. I am with an agency that is a top 5 like DL's UTA agency. I have deal memo's on every project I work on. That's the contract. The agents know what they are doing and do this every single day. The deal memo is a contract. Period. The real issue is the promoters. It was his show he is the one who put her on the show. He was asked to put her on and he did. For her to do this is crazy and wrong.

Neither the deal memo or the contract should contradict each other. The promoters are at fault here. All performance participants should get the same document type. They should all have a contract or all have a deal memo. Monique shouldn't have involved the audience with her displeasure regarding this legal issue.
