Way more than that if you can figure out the basic details of Moana's story. A young determined heroine that wanted to save her country by apologizing to Tefiti and returning her heart to her because she didn't want their jungle landscapes to disappear. Moana's tribe had the idea that they'd lose more of their islands if Tefiti became angry again, so Moana tried hard with patience to prove to Tefiti that trouble wasn't her intention. Maui's tattoos are supposed to be his history in pictures.

My favorite thing about Te Fiti also being a lava monster is that volcanic soil is actually what makes Polynesian islands so lush and fertile! So it makes total sense that she can be both such a giver of life and a scary, dangerous creature - the takeaway is that we should totally respect and take care of our natural resources and not destroy or take unnecessarily from them or we risk upsetting the balance of nature 💚

Some cool things you might not have noticed, is at the beginning of the movie the first monster that is drawn when her dad says there are no monsters, is Elsa from Frozen’s Creation, and when Moana packs to leave, we see a melted Olaf with her supplies in the boat, and lastly at the end of the movie the first flower to gain life again was Rapunzel’s magic flower. Also there is an end credit scene where the Crab (Tamatoa) mentions Sebastian from The Little Mermaid.

I watched this initially surrounded by Islanders. There were a few other families in the theater with us, and the Pacific Northwest has a lot of Hawaiians, people from Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand. At the end of the movie the parents were all teary-eyed, listening to the last song, full of pride.
@damianni584018 күн бұрын
Some interpret this show as a metaphor for women saving women after a man wrongs them. Maui, a man, would be interpreted as the perpetrator as he takes something precious from Te Fiti which leaves her unraveled and in despair. Moana, who sees her pain and emphasizes with her, lowers her guard and shows compassion towards Te Fiti, unlike Maui who consistently tries to bring her down. After Moana shows her compassion and quite literally restored her heart, Te Fiti heals and goes back to her old self

Fun fact an actual person voiced hei hei, his name is Alan Tudyk. Also Disney did a good job with diversity in the people that voiced the characters and are representative of the cultures shown. The Rock is Samoan and they based the design of Maui off of his grandfather, who was a Samoan wrestler if I recall correctly. Disney’s did really well on this film, I only hope that the sequel will be just as thought out.

I know that you usually do reactions on movies or shows but I was wondering if you would do a reaction on the musical Epic. It is not a movie per se but a bunch of music that tells a story, specifically the Greek Odyssey. Many people have made animatics to them so you can see the characters come to life and I think you would enjoy listening to it so much. Again, it is completely up to you but I know a bunch of people who would love to see it as well as the community that is created around this musical is sweet and loving and won’t spoil anything. Just a suggestion. I would love to see it. 🫶 I love your videos by the way.

The only things I'd change about the film is giving it a larger central cast (like part 2 did, but better) as well as making Moana more hesitant about her destiny, with her father's backstory and almost drowning herself making her fear the sea. While she helped her people, it was assisted by her own desire to explore.

The scene where her grandma passes away is a hard scene for me to watch because I lost my beloved Gammie (grandma) 6 years ago. She and I were very close and when she passed it made a big hole in my heart that is still healing 6 years later. I know she is living in paradise with her Savior and I know I will join her one day.
