Great video! I really love the style of Bobby Timmons, his playing is really something special and super underrated, in my opinion. Would you consider ever doing some kind of video that goes over the styles of multiple jazz pianists (including Timmons) and showing what makes them all so unique?

Truly inspirational your story about the banker, thank you for sharing. Best regards
Swing loose, Maestro! Love to Herbie the cat! Wish he could meet my beautiful Snowy cat who's been given a reprieve by the vet from what we thought was a very serious illness......just goes to show what playing a little piano to her and lots of love can do... and... YES!....Prayer! I guess that's why I got to love Horace Silver and the Jazz Messengers so much and naturally Art Blakey and co. with that mixture of jazz/blues/gospel/swing etc it goes to the very soul. Btw I once studied Business & Finance and Law etc but wish I'd gone to Music College. I also served in the military but if I could go back in time and join a military band - some of my fav musicians in Britain served in the forces, in the bands of the Guards, etc.

Another tune like this with the blues over the swing feel is Timeline by Pat Metheny and Mike Brecker. 4 Reply Spencer Soloduka 7 days ago I had a similar experience. This song is about to change my life too Reply Bruce Jeric 6 days ago Great tune. Great playing! Love whenever you bring Herbie in. I have 8 cats now and most are black and whites. Love them all soooo…much. I have a new stray, came here a couple of months ago starving. All better now. Vets, fixed, all shots, plenty of food and most of al LOVE!! He follows me everywhere and likes to sleep on top. Of my old vintage Rhodes. So I put the top on and gave it to him. I found a Roland like yours and also picked up Yamaha P515. And I have my 6foot Boston grand. So having something to play on is never an issue. Keep swinging my brother Read more Reply neiljc7 7 days ago Could not agree with you more Kent! Was also pivotal in my discovery of jazz. The tension of the blues-abandon combined with the depths-of-your-soul changes in the bridge are among the most expressive in Hard Bop. Blakey version with full complement of solos is mind-blowing every time. Many Thanks for giving this gem its due! 2 Reply Patrick Romano 7 days ago Love this!!! Moanin' is the best, as is the K.H., of course! As for "just be ourselves," yeah! Great tune, coincidentally I was playing around with it on the piano yesterday. Local Chicago-style horn band I was in played it for a while at gigs just out of high school, as you said about 1972! Dreams really was the start of my gravitation toward loving "real jazz :)" ---too bad they only made 2 albums.

Hello dear Kent, been a fan for a while and was wondering if you ever plan on covering Louis Primas I ain't got nobody, been in love with this tune for a while and would love to learn it myself but I am an amateur. Either way Love your work hope you keep on pushing that knowledge out to the world good sir.

I haved heard the song. What makes you attracted to it? It's not a jazz standard...more a pop tune...but I very good one.

Hello. I love your jazz method, and I propose it to my students. But what do you think about the John Mehegan's method.? Is it also important to study this technics too ? Thank for your answer
@KentHewittpiano88 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I studied with John and have his books. He was the premier teacher in the 50's and 60's He taught Chick Corea and many others. His book only had chord changes...no melodies...which is different from mine. I think mine is more up to date and practical ...that's my pitch.
