Another great video friend! I love the surplus machetes. I wish I had found about them sooner. They're crude.. most need sharpening and might have a bend but the steel is good. Once they're sharpened they're good to go! Hey would you mind doing a video on how you sharpen your machetes on the 1x30?

Take that mother to your anvil and peck that bend out lol. Had to with my imacasa 443. No big deal. But man what we ain't looking at is most southamericans don't have acces to sharpening stones and diamond pads. They sharpen on creek rocks. They aren't felling ye ol oak tree out back either. They are just cuting banana trees grass maybe a little fire wood. But mostly extremely soft vegetation. That's why they leave them a bit soft. Keep it up man. Hope all is well

Parang just means machete. Gladius just means sword. But you have to apply them to the style of the period of the language of the culture they're named after, and the modern usage we attribute them to. But there's also a lot of grey area and you can't be too nit picky.

It’s a Tapanga machete. I have a Tramontina version. Mine is a heavy duty beast. No ring to it at all. Just thunk.

I haven’t really given mine a beating yet. It may sing, being a Tramontina, it’s likely.

Parang and Golok are NOT true machete, they're snap cutters, not slashers.
