The art style is so unique, mostly because mob psycho 100 was adapted straight from the web comic, whereas OPM was adapted from a web series to a manga first before being adapted to an anime.

One-Punch Man was originally a webcomic by ONE, then Yusuke Murata started a remake with good art, and Mad House did the anime based on Murata's version. In Murata's version he only draws Saitama in ONE's style. Mob Psycho 100 is ONE's first series as a pro manga artist. ONE isn't a good artist, but he's good at panel layouts and writing. That's why MP100 characters all kinda look like Saitama.

I’m not really a big anime guy myself, the first proper anime I watched was one punch man about a month or two ago, then I watched this one and absolutely LOVED the animation style of it, and was surprised to find out a decent amount of people aren’t a big fan of this style

You will find that studio Bones used a lot of really unique and dynamic animation choices for both this season and season 2. We did not see the ending animation here but that is made entirely by a technique called paint on glass. I think the studio hired a woman specializing in that style for that.

I love the hype that's finally come around with Mob Psycho 100. I remember when Season 1 came out. I had already read been up to date with the mangas so I knew it would be great. But then I saw people drop it left and right purely because of the art style or because the first few episodes didn't have some crazy action. This show is so SO much more. Not sure if you guys will see this but, the reason for the artstyle being a bit different for Mob Psycho compared to OPM is because the original web series for OPM was created by ONE (Mob psycho and OPM wirter) kind of as a hobby to improve his drawing but the story got so popular it then got adapted and redrawn into a manga by a guy named Murata, who is unbelievably talented and imo God-tier when it comes to drawing manga. I'm not sure the exact reason why ONE didn't redraw it himself as he had gotten better at drawing by the time it got made into a manga, but I think it might've been because he was busy with Mob Psycho as it was his main project and job at the time and also the main reason he wanted to improve his drawing if I'm not mistaken. It is seriously amazing how far he has come since the early days of the OPM webcomic.
