Growing up in Houston, I always heard that there was a bet made between Suave House and Rap A Lot, and it involved Tela. That’s why Tela ended up with rap a lot. Draper went to ATL but around this time, so did Scarface to work for def jam south. Ball and G went to Puffy Daddy and the rest is history.

one of the greatest labels ever. the way Rick Ross described it is the same way I feel -- names I'll never forget. This is why Drape needs to eventually do an interview (even just one) to clear the air, tell his side and control his narrative. People have been running with this for too long without REALLY knowing.

If you listen to Tela's second album, Now or Never, he shoots multiple slugs at Suave House on it. I think Tela and Draper fell out and then Tela went to J Prince for help in that situation, and thats where the so called "beef" came from between Draper and J Prince. On Eightball's album LOST, I think he shoots subliminal slugs back at Tela in response on the song Put Tha House On It. I always figured Ball was dissing either Tela or Mr Mike since both had left Suave House around that time. But it was more than likely Tela. Suave House ultimately fell off when Ball&G left in '99. Once they departed it was pretty much a wrap for Suave House. Draper is a legend though. Without him there probably wouldn't have ever been an Eightball&MJG, Tela or Mr Mike. There'd be no Mr Big, Lay It Down, Spaceage Pimping, Where Is Your Love or any of the classic albums that came to be. To this day Suave House is still my all time favorite record label.

Nah bro.. Incorrect..Cash Money and No Limit were already in existence before Big Boy existed.Cash Money started in 1991 in New Orleans and No Limit was formed in Richmond, Califonia by Master P in 1991 ..Big Boy didnt come until 1992-93..Cash Money & Big Boy were Rivals and engulfed in a rap beef in about 93-95 with UNLV and Partners & Crime. Later UNLV and Mystikal started to go back and forth . Once Master P came back to the city NOLA⚜️ and 94-96 and Big Boy records was into decline due to its founder Charles " Big Boy" Temple going to the feds .Then alot of Big Boys artist went to No Limit and sign with Master P lole Fiend , Mystikal who was already on Jive by this time, etc...But both Cash Money and No Limit were already in existence when Big Boy started in 94..Cash Money & Big boy were Rivals and semi contemporaries of each other. BUT CMR- Cash Money Records ( came first) & both Cash Money & No Limit was already in existence since 1991 . I was there homie..I saw it..⚜️⚜️⚜️ Do you research bruh..

Tela's Piece of Mind was the dopest, most slept on album of 1996/97. It didn't get the props it deserved because it came out between Outkast's ATLiens album, 2Pac's Makavelli album and Biggie's Life After Death album. By 1997 it was totally overshadowed by Master P because that was the year that No Limit took off.

I was put on to Ball and G back in 92 or 93 with "9 Millter Boyz", the tape where Ball and G were in the dropped Lexus and they still had curls. One of the more underrated thing about Suave House, the amount female MCs they had and they were all dope. Crime Boss, "The Fry", Mr. Mike solo was fire too. South Circle. To be honest and I love Rap A Lot. S.H had better music and MCs at the time. MJG solo was fire. Psychodrama was so fire too. We definitely fucked with Suave House.

I was there when they had the dice 🎲 game. The play was Tela for Scarface. J won. J won Scarface from Lil Troy in a dice 🎲 game. So take that in account. Now what was going on when Migo's Takeoff got killed 😳. Dice 🎲 game. That's the play. I believe they were up for a deal with Mob Ties and Takeoff wasn't really feeling the deal Quavo got beat out of a lot of money and they were going to force him to a deal. They argued and he was disrespectful to them and a argument happened and it turned into gun 🔫 play and Takeoff got killed. This been going on with Rap a Lot.

Suave House was destroying Rap-A-Lot back then, but only because Rap-A-Lot was incredibly inconsistent dropping 1 good album a year. Meanwhile Suave House was dropping nothing but back to back classics. We rarely bought anything from Rap-A-Lot during that era, but copped everything Suave House dropped the first day of release. Then the cassette tapes would come out so we could dub em, give a copy to the homies, and sell the rest in school. I miss those days.

Yeah you right, Tony Draper is underrated but not counted out though. You really can’t name an artist that wasn’t inspired by 8ball and Mjg, Tony Draper brought them into the world. J Prince brought the geto boys and scarface into the world , the end. They both birthed giants, who would eventually go on to birth giants. The down south shit really started with them. Also, more importantly (but seldomly mentioned): they pioneered the art of perfecting your craft and being dedicated. Before the geto boys and 8 ball and mjg the goal was to get a hot SINGLE and get it on the radio. Mc thick from marrero , mc Nero from Baton Rouge , dj jimmy from New Orleans and everybody else that was hot had hot SINGLES!!! After the geto boys and 8 ball and mjg the goal became to make a hot ALBUM, A CLASSIC ALBUM!!!!! That’s a fact. Somebody got their foot in the door and fucked that right back up but you can figure out who that was , they’ll remain nameless here.

Tony Draper is not mob ties. So I don't know where this came from. Tony and J were in competition with each other. Gambling 🎰 over artists 🎨 and Tony lost Tela in a dice 🎲 game to J. That was a big mistake. Something happened to Tony with some cases and he disappeared from the streets. Never heard what happened.
