@@dougsmith4525 I agree with ya! But I still like the harbor freight for things like lawn mower blades. That faster speed really does help with really badly chipped blades. But for knife/ scissors the bucktool is awesome!

@@jimcallahan3408 hey Jim good to hear from you. 😊 It's not from hard or freight. It's called the bucktool 1x30 low speed. It comes with a grinding wheel on the other side. But I swapped that out for a leather wheel. It's a significantly more streamline process!

leather strop wheel is a game changer IMO. faster and better results than leather belt stropping on 1x30.

@@cpen9667 agreed!!!!I found out I liked the leather wheel. Because of the tormek. The 1x30 belts just stretch out too easily.

@@DJOmega80 I got it on Amazon. Here's the link to the one I purchased. I would also say you might look into the 8 inch leather wheel. The 6 inch doesn't make for much clearance. And the 8 inch has been recommended to me. But the 6 inch works. Hey Sam great video. I ordered that same Bucktool to do sharpening myself. Are there any tips or tricks you have done to yours? Thanks again for the vids and any advice...

@@chrisb.4496 so first thing is going to be getting the leather wheel for the side where the grinding wheel is. That leather wheel makes a huge difference! I mounted mine horizontal as you can see. Which for me makes it more ergonomic. Other than that just some high quality belts. I would recommend 120 and 600 for two essentials. And the angle guide. Your choice as to what way it spins. Mine is spinning edge trailing. Other things that might help are an angle guide for measuring angles. As well as a bristle brush for helping deburr. I've found it really helps with keeping the toothy edge. 😊 If you have any other questions feel free to ask as many as you need. No point in knowing things if you cannot share them with people willing to listen.
