Shani, Clotho and Orga where treated like tools by Azrael. Neo(Mu) actually cared for the new extends a lot more, also their treatment is a lot more advanced than simply giving them enhancement drugs before every battle...

Phantom Pain was by far the superior team. They were raised as a team from birth and the three gundams they stole were specialized so they'd never be disadvantaged as a team - especially with Neo leading them. They were literally the best Extended Team that the Earth Forces could have had at their disposal. It's a shame Stella never got a chance to join the Minerva like Fukada planned. Those skills would have come in handy for her.

@@JeffreyPiatt Fukada released in an interview that he originally planned to have Stella join the Minerva Group like Dearka Elthman did in SEED (Which is why they captured the Gaia Gundam) but Morosawa's return prevented that as she wanted to focus on the Archangel Crew instead. I believe that because the pacing from the second half of Destiny feels extremely rushed and out of place as well as extremely counterproductive to a lot of characters story arcs. Stella Loussier would have been the first Cyber Newtype to escape Lalah Sune's Gravity Well.

@@zerosen1972absolutely no! The original Druggies from SEED although Chaotic were by far the better pilots and bigger threat. They gave Kira, Yzak, Athrun, Dearka and Mu a run for their money. Decimated Orb, and almost absolutely wrecked the freedom at one point. Sting, Stella, and Awuel suck. Sting lost to murasawa grunts and couldn’t even beat a rusty Athrun. Stella got dismembered by the freedom, and Awuel’s Abyss unfortunately lost to an unseasoned Shinn. It took Nuclear powered mobile suits and an entire team to bring down Shani, Clotho and Orga. Even Fukuda stated the original druggies were better pilots than their Phantom Pain counterparts because they went through more extreme levels of training.

Phantom Pain was so amazing in this episode. If I mistake,they sent 32 Windams to make Minerva side delay to their destination. In reality,Phantom Pain Neo Division had a sad background story we don't know. For instance, Stella didn't have any friends before first episode of Gundam Seed Destiny. But,during on further episode,she had a teammate with a family vibe. During episode 21,Shinn was Stella first friend because they share a similar loneliness due they lost their families during war.

Just to justify Athrun's side, the enemy surrendered and didn't necessarily need to be murdered by Shinn. After how much Athrun lost in the last war, it makes sense that he'd look down on creating unneeded casualties. There's also the fact that resources in a war are limited and the fact that the enemy surrendered meant they could have resupplied at the base but that's out of the window now that Shinn destroyed all the supplies they could have used. Athrun seemed very much nerfed but that's understandable as he's not fully sold on the idea of the war especially as it will continue to go on.

The enemy was not surrendering, surrendering involves laying down your arms, the forces at the base were still opening fire apon Shinn they were just retreating, shooting retreating foes is still in bad taste for me personally, but Shinn was 100% justified in his action under these specific circumstances

Athrun is always an awful team leader. He keeps talking about how war is awful. But he doesn't really care when citizens are massacred in front of his sight. Instead, he keeps speaking about morals on paper. When Shinn is stuck in his hopeless situation, and can't do anything except disobey the law and rescue Stella and wait to be executed by ZAFT. Athrun knows nothing. And after he knows, everything he does is visit Shinn in jail, talk morally about how he shouldn't believe Neo (my, you think Shinn - who is anti Blue Cosmos - is so stupid like that? He is trying to believe it because he doesn't have any other choice.) Not only that, for both season 1 and 2, Athrun usually focuses on his own emotion and trouble, instead of caring about his team until something very bad happens. In season 1, his action leads to Nicol's death. In season 2, he breaks his relationship with his team (especially Shinn). It is a miracle when Shinn still feels good about him and confuses when ZAFT orders him to kill Athrun. In this battle, even before when Shinn destroy the base, Athrun shows his lack of team leader' ability one more time. He keeps playing with Chaos, throw Shinn in a hopeless battle against 31 MS (and 1 of them piloted by ace pilot Neo). And everything he care, is complain Shinn that "you gone too far", while Shinn trying to survive his battle??? He always makes me feel he is actually hypocritical. Always feel sad and talk about peace, citizens and living's value. But refuses sympathy to his own comrades, and doesn't really care when seeing someone is in a hopeless situation.
