Thank you dear Pappy, excellent & simple review. I'm looking at this to replace my expensive Sky home broadband while I go through uncertain job change. Nervous of long contracts right now. You've helped me a lot! Best wishes to you & your loved ones 🥰❤

I had this router, I donated it to my dad for his house broadband, he has a smarty sim in it and it works a treat. He only emails, browses and streams the odd catch-up program. He's gone on the £12 per month for 100GB. He seems pleased with it. When I used it I found it an excellent router.

Hi @ep1929 I hope you're well 😍 May I ask if your Dad is still satisfied with his e5576 and if he's still on 100GB data plan? I'm looking at this to replace my expensive Sky home broadband while I go through uncertain job change. Nervous of long contracts right now. Thanks very much! Take care 😊

@@MsGnor hi there, he is still on mobile 4g home internet with smarty (1 month pre pay bundle) but I upgraded router to a cheap Huawei b311 (home base router) as this is a more permanent solution. This router was £25 second hand on eBay, I believe new are around £60. The mobile router worked ok but my dad couldn't get his head around that this is a mobile device that needs charging, switching on etc. Therefore I got him the home 4g router off eBay and he hasn't looked back. He was getting ripped off big time by Plusnet - £30 a month for a service that barley worked! The 4g home broadband route has worked well for my dad.

And yes he's still on the £12 - 100gb per month plan, usually goes through around 30-40gb a month so not a heavy user.

Great little review Pappy! I’ve just bought one of these and it came with a smarty SIM card. I’m hoping that it’ll connect to my cello smart tv so I can stream Netflix etc (I know that’ll munch through the data pretty quickly so I’ll go for the higher price plan but it’s great that you can just stop and start and not tied to a contract. Yours was one of the first videos that popped up. You’re a natural in front of the camera and have helped me. I also love the tracker (iPhone with a payg card in it) perfect 👌🏼 - much cheaper than a tracking device, how is it constantly charging though as otherwise it’d eventually go flat or I think some even work when the phone is off … new subscriber here mate. Great little channel. You need more followers. Merry Christmas.

I got one from Amazon also as we struggle for WiFi on our holidays in Cornwall, please note there is a WiFi password in letters and numbers it’s not the one that says password-admin.

Ours is a Huawei too with an external antenna. Couldn't live without it now with Youtubing or even just trying to keep in touch with the kids. We have Giffgaff in ours. Just tried Smarty but it was awful. Only any good in Morecambe, rubbish in Scotland.

Can you tell me if the signal is still good with your blinds down please as I find that it greatly affects my phone signal. Many thanks

To be honest I never noticed any difference 😁but I will do a test next time I’m in the van
@sparkythemotorhome79243 жыл бұрын
Yes we find the foil backing on the blinds kills the signal, so we leave our mobiles in the windows so I would suggest doing that

How do you "top up" on this, on a pay as you go sim?
@PappysTravels2 жыл бұрын
Automatic top up on PayPal, just cancel before the renewal date if you don’t need it for a while, then reinstate when required👍

Or a paypoint shop which is most small convenience stores these days.
