Many times Malayalam actors were forsaken by jury for Hindi actors. National awards are biased and discriminatory. One time Mohanlal were cast aside by jury for Hindi actors by saying that he was young. What the...? Is that a criteria? Another time Thilakan were cast aside for another Hindi actor, even though he gave a tremendous performance. Same goes to Mammootty. Many times Mohanlal and Mammootty got only special jury award even though they were the best. Later they started award sharing. Then Malayalam actors got the chance with Hindi actors. Even though Malayalam made Oscar worthy movies in many years, they sent Hindi films with romance and dances instead. What happened? Indian films lost international awards and got prejudiced. Even in this adverse situation Malayalam managed to bag 14 awards (second position after Hindi) for best actors and 12 awards (third position after Bengali and Hindi) for best picture. Every year, non Hindi films and actors face discrimination. I've no disrespect towards Hindi film industry or actors. I deeply admire their good work. But discrimination and partiality must be avoided.
