Mobility scooter will not charge

Having checked out a few charge Trouble shooting vlogs before discovering this channel, yours was the most ‘to the point’ and useful. In my case dealing with a Kymco Agility, the 10amp Blade fuse had blown when with a Multimeter I was attempting to test the battery voltage output at the plug-in socket. Touch the wrong pins and within seconds, the circuit is inadvertently blown. So I wouldn’t recommend it unless you know exactly which pin is what. Without realising it I must have shorted the charging circuit that is protected by a blade fuse, resulting in no charge when the charger is plugged in. Surprising it wasn’t obvious to locate the fuse assembly and remove the fuse cover, however, once ‘sussed’ out, it was simply a question of checking each fuse in succession to identify the ‘offending’ fuse. For some reason Kymco make opening the fuse cover very difficult by fitting a retaining the cover with tight fitting clips and an obscure release process. It’s easy when you know how, but can cause damage to the wiring circuit if you’re heavy handed and is clearly designed to dissuade DIY repairs. In short this is simple ‘fix’ made difficult by an industry determined to promote costly dealer repairs.

sorry i missed this post there are a couple of spots depending on what machine you have if its a main (power issue) look from the battery to the motor if its auxiliary (blinkers) main fuse box the last couple of scorers i fixed it was not charging (battery terminal - dirty - loose ) hope this helps Ray

The charging port on my friends mobility scooter is totally missing. Theres a black , red and white wire. Where does the white wire to go on the charging port. Theres only a live and negative wire coming from the charger

I need a photo of the plug (note if this is not set up to factory standards it is possible to start a fire) what is the make and model-year-and # of batteries don't forget to sub ray

@@raysfix I've ordered a new 3 pin charging port off ebay . Both male and female connectors. I will replace both connectors and hopefully that will sort it out. Thanks for your help if I get stuck with it I will send you a photo of it ..
