💫I am a tai chi and "internal martial arts'" junkie and these arts can give you the ability to move a person in very unusual ways without using any muscular force ...by manipulating a persons fascia which includes all the tension there within..."my fascia can talk to your fascia" the mysterious "chi" power may very well be the piezoelectric properties in fascia and bone structure alignment. also from a yogic and healing point of view it is incredible how much healing can be done by releasing your own / or another persons fascia/tension. One thing that isnt talked about often is how much the mind can play a role in all of this. You can direct the energetic force through the body or through space by intention from the mind. Thanks a lot for your great vids and contributing so much experience to a new and emerging field. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💫🙏

Well said. 🙂 I would NOT be surprised if all the new studies and research about fascia did not stem from researching the benefits of practices of yoga and Tai chi. Like always, scientists will stamp it "NEW RESEARCH" when fascia exercises have been in practices for ages. People who practice it are in good health and don't have chronic pain. You will notice that many of the people making the videos say, "come to my office for ttreatment." I have not heard any of them say, " practices yoga and Tai chi."

Hi Elisha, wow! Such a great message!! I' m a manual therapist, in practice since 1995 now, upledger, biodynamic CST, fascial stretch therapy, bowen therapy, advanced soft tissue release, am a medical intuitive, and transformation coach. So yeah! All of the above!! One thing that really grabbed my attention years ago when I was studying the physiology of fascia is that it's really kind of got it's own nervous system, and what I've seen with clients and myself is that it's the bridge between consciousness and physiology. I love how you articulated our emotional life is the guardian to accessing it. Also love a quote I've heard many times, "We are wounded in relationship and we are healed in relationship." Bang on sister! Love your channel 💜💜

@PropheticCoachTheresa6 ай бұрын
@@whispersofnaturewithjanisophia Amen! For sure, when I learned that fascia has a neurological function that's considered to be even up to 3 times faster than the dedicated nervous system itself, it started to make sense why as a medical intuitive I could "see and hear" the exact nature of the emotional issues people had that were connected to their symptoms. Esoteric/metaphysical explanations have traditionally been that it's energy, qi, and then some other less quantifiable aspect of consciousness, and that's cool, but I really love that there is a tangible physiological aspect for the metaphysical/quantum relationship between consciousness and matter. There has to be! It's how we are created! :)

Hello Elisha, I left some comments under videos a few years back. Everything that I've heard here makes absolute sense to me. My issues got worse, and then worse again through some recent chiropractic interventions. Not pain, but numbness, and I'm certain that it's postural, not neurological. I have a strong sense that when things are adjusted, "corrected", this can lead to a heightened conflict between the adjusted parts and the fascia, as though the two were pulling in different directions. Both biomechanically, I think, and emotionally. Since you feel that relational work is much more valuable than what I can do on my own, my task seems to be a matter of finding someone in my part of Berlin that I can work with. I know that I've been carrying anxiety all of my life, and in older age it seems to have come back again in a new guise. I also seem very sensitive to energy, but won't elaborate on that here. In any case, thank you for saying in a structured way what I pretty well "knew" already, as well as providing some new information.
@canoegirl6335Ай бұрын
Your comment really resonates with me. I feel exactly the same .. as we get older the stuck patterns become more apparent. I’ve had a rough year with my mental and physical health due to repressed emotions which I’m sure triggered facial pain. While that has resolved I’m now experiencing daily anxiety. Even taking meds which I never thought I’d do. It’s certainly a journey to find our true selves isn’t it?

@@canoegirl6335 Always interesting to re-view what one wrote five months ago. I've been seeing an osteopath every 3 or 4 weeks since then, and it's probably helped a bit. I think that it works in both directions, from the mind to the body, vice versa. My sense now is that of less-is-more, gradualism. Perhaps the whole of life is learning subtlety in a decidedly unsubtle culture. Bon courage, as the French say.

I was attracted to this video because I have a sensitive binding and stiffness on my left side for years. I ‘ve wanted to see a rolfer but put it off also for years. Is rolfing something you could comment about? Well done and a gn inspiring story!
@ElishaCeleste6 ай бұрын
the primary teaching in this masterclass is that fascia won't change just because we want it to or perform certain techniques - such as rolfing (or partner fascia release or self fascia release or breathing, or....on and on). So I would first get curious about WHY you're so bound up and stiff on your left side. Without knowing why, and what is going on in your fascia, nervous system, blood vessels, lymph, and life...it's impossible to know what your body needs. You might be stiff and bound up because of compensations due to prior injuries, or because of trauma, or because of dehydration, or because of a gut issue inhibiting blood flow or nerve enervation to the left side...that's why I developed my mapping methodology, to take the guesswork out so we could be strategic in our actions.
@Tinyteacher11116 ай бұрын
I have had that for a few years, and i found out I had several Lyme infections. Lyme+ causes myalgia, and I was getting stuff necks, sore throats, and my entire left side wouldn’t move after an upper cervical adjustment. Still, after being in treatment for 18 months, I still have leg pain and muscle weakness, that is unusual. For instance, I used a hand shovel to weed, a couple weeks ago that left my hand hurting for 2 days. Just a thought, but it’s worth looking into, IF you can find a Lyme-literate practitioner.

What do you think about those fascia blaster things?
@ElishaCeleste3 ай бұрын
I think it's mildly helpful at best and catastrophic at worst. I've been emailed dozens of horror stories from women who used it to get rid of their cellulite and bruised themselves badly and created a lot of loose skin and scar tissue from scraping their bodies. It does not get into the deep fascia, only the superficial fascia which houses the lymph system. Basically I'm not a fan at all, have never used it myself and know a lot of people who badly damaged their fascia as a result of using it. But some people swear by it.

I had a recent fasciectomy 3 days ago where 2/3 of my infraspinatus fascia was removed to relieve a muscle knot which was initially a suspected lipoma. My muscles and skin on that side started to sag a bit compared to the other side. It was pretty invasive and I’m regretting being there. I was told it will regenerate, but is it really possible? what exercise and therapy would you recommend to reverse this ? Thanks in advance and I appreciate your videos

Let me know if I am incorrect, but you seem to be saying that with the fascia one cannot become well UNLESS worked on with some one else who already loves us. And, that your feeling loss trauma occurred in early teens. Thee are a whole hell a lot of us whose feeling destroting trauma occurred in early childhood, among other thins, severely limiting relationship, in fact making it impossible (cf Poyvagale Safetry, chapter 3 would be enough) which I can fonfirm not only experientially but through my particular form of scientific research. Pretty dark pronouncement. The laws of relationship can hardly manifest at the level of early childhood dorsal vagal shutdown.
@ElishaCeleste4 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what you are asking exactly, but I am definitely NOT saying that fascia can only become well by working with someone who loved us in childhood. I'm saying about my healing experience specifically that none of my teachers were able to help me because I didn't feel safe to be myself with them, and I definitely didn't trust them with my emotions or my trauma stories. And that barrier prevented me from benefiting from the physical work. We heal the most deeply and completely when we feel seen and loved for who we are by at least one other human being.

You know, I can appreciate the frustration you feel. I'm often frustrated by the fact that I talk "too much" (a judgement often pointed out to me here on KZbin, and a self judgment I am working to heal). I also appreciate that despite my own very real inadequacies and deeply rooted fears of public ridicule and judgment, I am doing my best to show up and offer something to the world that could be helpful. Pretty soon you won't have to bother with real humans like me because we will have AI - ones that looks like real humans but aren't - teaching us all about fascia (and everything else). One way to tell the difference between an AI and a human is that human beings are fallible, we have our deficiencies and our fears, and those mistakes and fumbles and personality quirks are what make us human.
