2:13 I don't think it's true. Had the body used all, or even most of its stored glycogen during sleep, we wouldn't be capable of any sustained anaerobic activity in the morning.

Hey, love all of your lectures!great information source! i do have a bit of a complicated question i wonder if you could help me understand :when the stomach gets the food and start to digest it ,satiety hormones are been secreted thus telling us to stop eating correct? food stays in the stomach itself for about 3 to 4 hours which is the average time of satiety. when the food leaves the stomach it becomes chyme and goes to the small intestine . when the stomach is empty-meanning there is no food there,ghrelin is been produced ,telling us to start eating again. What i dont get is,the food leaves as chyme to the small intestine and emptying the stomach,but when that chyme goes into the small intestine hormones of satiety are been secreted there as well ,telling us not to eat,but that contradicts the fact that when that chyme leaves the stomach we begin to feel hungry again ,so what am i missing? thank you

How about the production of ketone bodies? would the glycerol in the liver participate in the production of ketones instead of going into gluconeogenesis, or are FFA going into target liver cells do so?
@rowanclark69887 жыл бұрын
I believe ketone bodies are produced from the actecyl coa (from fat breakdown). This happens when glycogen levels are depleted, so rather than acteyl coa going into TCA cycle, they are converted into ketone bodies and the body adapts to them similiar to glucose.Can maybe also happen when there is no OAA in the TCA cycle ( I THINK.)

HI, I am wondering something. I take caffein before a workout to give me some energy. I know that caffein has several effects on the brain (increase adrenaline, dopamine), and it increases the lipolysis. My question is when people get used to caffein the effect on the brain stimulation is not as strong as before but I wonder if the lipolysis effect will remain as high as at the beginning or if the lipolysis is related to the brain stimulation which would mean that if the brain effect decrease the lipolysis will decrease ? Thank you very much !
@ashrutidwivedi28065 жыл бұрын
well, I think that it's effect would get constant after some time and may increase or decrease depending upon certain circumstances/factors like the amount of coffee we take, the number of times we take it and our blood & body fluid reacts and how it affects our body , etc.

Shouldn't that be a glycerol 3-phosphate dehydrogenase instead of glycerol phosphate?

How is the mobilization of triglycerides measured in a clinical setting?
@hermankazakov31478 жыл бұрын
do the fatty acids need to be put into lipoproteins before going into the blood or is that just the liver? and if they don't, how do they dissolve in the blood? with some protein carrier like albumin?

@vlastakhanova22524 жыл бұрын
@@felixandresjc among other things, it stores fat. Not the best thing if you are trying to release it from your adipocytes. Insulin is not a bad thing, we need it. What we dont want is prolonged times of elevated insulin.
