Smartphone brands love to play tricks on us sometimes. They come up with things that often don't matter as part of your experience with a smartphone, but they sure know how to make you feel like they are super important.
In this video I call out a few of those things and help you understand what certain smartphone terminologies and specification really mean when brands and we KZbinrs mention them in our video.

@@markoroncevic Using the phone while it is being charged. It is inconvenience caused during calls. Many TWS buds are simply not good enough for calling unless you're buying a premium pair of earbuds. Audio lag while watching videos or gaming is also an inconvenience. Plus, the additional features that they promised for removing the earphone jack was not really promised. For the features that we do have could have also been provided by keeping the jack.

I'm using 25w samsung charger, and I dont see the hype around charging at all. Sometimes you really need it But most times you don't, and people don't go change the setting every time. Could be worse for the battery as well. You have sockets on bikes and cars anyways. And you have sockets elsewhere to charge too. To me, im surprised the camera is even improving in flagship phones in the first place, otherwise i don't really see how s24 is so much better than the s10 or how the new iphone 15 pro max or 16 next year will really be that much of a stop forward compared to the iPhone 11. Most stuff is in software now too, and even that seems to be stagnating.

Hey, iPhone's ProRres and Samsung's 8K video are completely different things. ProRes is about capturing more dynamic data while shooting videos while 8K is just a higher resolution recording format. ProRes footage is more flexible considering the dynamic data involved - and so it can be color corrected to look a certain way that the editor requires. 8K on the other hand is meant for higher resolution playback - that's all.

Excellent video, Mobi. I agree completely with what you're saying. I plug my phone in every night, so charging speed doesn't matter. And I don't understand wireless charging; is plugging in a cable once a day really that much of a burden? I'm no Ansel Adams, so I don't need a super fancy camera. You can buy an 8K TV here (for about $10K) but nobody makes 8K content, so you'd only be watching your own videos. I am rarely, if ever, in a situation where I can't see my screen because the sun is too bright. And if it is, I live in a city, not a desert, there's always some shade available somewhere. If I wanted to be dazzled by BS and pay 10x what a phone is worth, I'd buy an iPhone.😁 Thanks to reviewers like you, I now look for value in things like update support, longevity, processor performance & reliability.

As someone has that is known for having burn in issues with every oled device. Having brighter displays helps because the oled displays have gotten dimmer and the white colors turn yellow like a clear cell phone case that turns yellow. I wish there was an option to have a mini led display on smartphones so the issues like burn in will be eliminated permanently. I treat all the displays the same whether they are oled or a non oled displays and it's guaranteed to have to be have burn in issues with the way I treat every oled displays and the display brightness degrading.

Charging speed argument fell flat because yes, we do need charging speeds to be high. With batteries getting bigger, it takes hours for charging your phone. Being able to have the convenience to do it in minutes is a life saver. Yes, we do not need these speeds, but we then ask for innovation from these brands. Let them continue developing these technologies and making it better with each iteration.

Main point is not a single company is actually changing anything they are just playing number games with their consumers.

nowadays flagships won't even come with screen protectors on it, which is the most irritating move
@mobiscrub

Having pre-installed screen protector is just nice because you don't have to then rush to a store to get it installed. Sometimes, the phone is out and the screen protectors aren't even out yet. So having one pre-applied is definitely a good idea.

Why no one is speaking about this, the faster, the phone Recharge impact the screen on Time, I have faced this many times. If I charge my phone with 5 W. It gives so much of screen on time, then compare to 20 W charger.

QHD versus full HD there's a big difference between slow charging versus fast charge another big difference, I use that everyday, 8K video vs 4k another big difference it's much crisper clearer and easy on the eye same with the QHD versus FHD it's much easier on the eye so these companies that are put it there it's all good reason, I'm so sorry if you think that's they are gimmicks or the company is fooling you only you alone see that way I'm so sorry you think that way

You mentioned about curved screen getting damaged when fallen or accidental touch issues..... Does oneplus 12r has the same problem bcos i think 12r's edge is minimal compared to moto edge phones.... What's ur opinion?
