I was going to bring it up but yeah Aussie pricing and seeming lack of the Crosshair VIII Hero without WiFi on Aussie shelves actually gives this board a place in the Asus lineup! Though the AUD$80 price premium from the Strix-E over the -F seems a bit harsh even though come think of it you get a few things that are better And on a side note for BZ if he ever sees this, the C8 Formula sits at AUD$799 - which comes in under the MSI X570 Creation ($829) - does that make it a less stupid board given the price premium is “only” AUD$150 over the Hero? 😛

If you're already spending $300 on a board you might as well spend the extra 50 and get the flagship model. The crosshair viii is an 8 layer PCB instead of 6 like this one and comes with handy extra features like onboard buttons for power, reset, MemOK!, etc. and other features like larger chipset heatsink with different angled design and larger fin area.

As I put in one of your other videos, the Strix X570-E is more expensive where you are (looking) for some reason. Here in Australia the X570-E is $489 while the Crosshair VIII Hero is $649. Using the usual "AUD pricing = USA price converted to AUD (~$0.65USD per $1 AUD) then add 10% for tax", it puts the Strix 570-E at about $290 USD while the Hero is about $385 USD. That price difference makes the two boards more reasonably priced in relation to each other. :\

Its not ALL about the VRM. This is clearly a good board if need its feautures. And in Sweden the difference between this board and the Hero is basicly $120ish, if you go for the hero with wi-fi its more like $150. So why would anyone need even better VRM when this is overkill allready. But then again, Europe is being sucked dry of dollares when it comes to computer components. We are the cash cow!

Asus seems to have changed the SOC vrm section on the Strix X570-E Gaming wifi II. The SOC area and the 3 phases above the CPU has been flipped, stacking all the CPU VRMs to the left and in the corner. SOC is now the two right most sections, Asus did the same thing on the Crosshair 6 Extreme. The top right 3 power areas stay vastly cooler than the other area. Not sure why they did so, but there it is, the II model does have some changes. 300 watt load is showing 55c temps at the hottest section on a water cooled CPU and chilled water at 10c, VRMs still air cooled. It's still quite strong and overkill. Will get a shot of the II board submitted soon.

I'm in europe and I also bought X570-E over the hero. With ryzen not clockin that much and I'm not doing extreme overclock I just can't see a reason to pay 100 euro more. For the hero with wifi. I realy like how this is positioned for europe. Even 70 euro difference in MSRP grows to 100 euro, when you add like 5-10% retailer margin and 20-25% VAT on top of that. And dual LAN is quite important for me as I have 2 seperate ISPs for redundancy.

Regarding the pricing, the gaming-E is 330$ MSRP and Hero 360$ MSRP, Hero Wifi is 380$ MSRP, if you got the hero you will lose wifi, so want wifi, the difference is like 50$, i agree with you, paying 330$, you would pay 380$ and get a better MB and thats exactly what Asus wants, so its a genius marketing and this is why Gaming-E and Gaming-F exist. the Gaming-F is the same board without Wifi, 2.5G Lan and less USB Gen 3.2 ports, all other things are the same, so when you said they could remove these things and put it at 300$, now the Gaming-F makes sense, right?!

At which onlineshop do you get the X570-E for 259€? I've seen a pricetag like that on Amazon, but seems the seller ships it in the original box, and often it's already used and no original sealing anymore (at least according to the reviews and photos); in the regular onlineshops, that board is around 310+ € currently (28th September 2021). Yes, I think it wasn't a good idea relying so much on some local USA price at specific point in time there, the Strix X570-E Gaming is 290-310€ while Crosshair Hero is 400-420€ in slovenia - 20 October 2020, I want those on/off buttons but no way I'm paying 100€ for that, I'll just make my own DIY ones. But I used the ASUS Comparison and found out that there are benefits to Strix X570-E in the fact that both M.2 slots support type 22110, while Crosshair Hero on only 1 slot and Crosshair Impact none. On another note, enthusiast boards have space issue cramming so much in, I think ATX and E-ATX form factor in case/mobo size in many ways is such a pain in the ass we have to move on to something bigger, these ancient practical convenience parts being sold as premium is really infuriating, I wouldn't mind the PC as a size of a small refrigerator, I exclusively buy E-ATX cases as I have no patience dealing with mid-tower space constraints when assembling and maintaining, it's not like I'm 15 years old give me a break.

it pained me alot to watch this video, in Pakistan Price difference was more than 120$, i know you have compared to a store where you lived, but your videos are not country specific, my humble request is, try to add price difference in a way that we can connect to it, like you can say if differece is more than 100$ or Euro, then what should we buy, if difference is like 30$ than definetly I know I have to buy higher end. we love your videos.

I received this board today, it was £100 cheaper than the Crosshair Hero so I didn't even look at that. I paid £290 for the Strix X570-E which is way more than I'd normally pay for a motherboard.

Here in the Philippines, the Crosshair VIII costs 444.51 USD while the STRIX E costs 340.23 USD. A 101.28‬ USD difference. This is just from one shop, though. Some shops sell stuff for a lower price. Still, I'll buy either the Crosshair VIII, the Aorus Master, or the Aorus Xtreme. No point in getting the E. Thank you for your reviews, BZ!

NA Pricing definitely different 426 vs 475 cad$ E vs Hero. So for $49cad that's our consideration here and that's about spot on the US$ difference or very close. Very classy correcting your earlier misinformation about the board and in true Buildzoid fashion good job on you. All that said I'm following your recommendations from best MB for ryzen and looking to B450 options, $400plus for a MB when you don't need PCIE4 is way to much. Hell the Asus TUF and Gigabyte Elite which are decent boards are $270 here which for a 6/8 core build is a lot. BTW that's the same price or very close to it as the R5 3600 here.

Not sure where the prices come from in the US cause they do seem very close. But the Hero is £380 and the Strix is £275 in the UK. In the UK the question is why would you buy the Hero when the strix is 100 less and very nearly as good as the Hero

there is a word called: stupid, but have a lot of money. Basiclly, except 1% geekers and hardcore overlock players, ROG series are espcially designed for them. Asus just print some sologan on MB, like"玩家国度"、"strix"、"Republic of gaming",and they wait to charge EXTRA moneky. ONE FUNCTION, ONE HUNDRED CNY. If you buy a 3700X+ASUS X570 Prime, the MB part just cost 1500 CNY. So, start with it: 1. use better VRM. +100 RMB; (1 more USD cost, 13 USD more income) 2. add 2.5G realtek 8125 RJ45. +100 RMB; 3. add WIFI 6 and BlueTooth 5. +100 RMB; 4. add supereme FX chips, and make 3.5mm port like golden. +100 RMB; (2 more USD cost, 12 USD more income) 5. retard sologan print on it. like"玩家国度"、"Strix"、"Republic of gaming". +100-1000 RMB floating rate;(1 penny more cost, 14-140 USD more income) so, you can find it price are soo floating everyday, from 2000 RMB in 3700X set, or 2500RMB as single board to 2999 RMB.(about from 280-420$ or 255-380€). Why it soo floating? because "stupid but have a lot of money comsumer" and retard Asus Taiwan marketing department.

@@patressss yeah it's true, the only thing that bothers me(after the price) is the 4 sata ports, which honestly is just so stupid. They should have removed the oc knob. I hate when motherboard manufacturers make choices that are made to "look" impressive for the uneducated. And yeah I know that it has m.2 ports but nvme drives are still expensive and I currently have 3 sata drives already. It won't be a problem, so I'll probably still buy it but it feels like I'm missing out on something compared to the other manufacturers. Msi bios is king tho 👌

The VRM layout confuses me really; 2 big phases of IR3553, for your Quad-core Ryzen APU (or potentially a 6-core but it doesn't matter anyways). Asus is cheaping out and spending more on so many random places which they shouldn't :/
@Yuzume
@Yuzume 5 жыл бұрын
@Ivan Martinez-Kay I watched the video, I just don't see why Asus would want to stick such a high-end SOC VRM knowing that no one would even buy it for an APU Something like a TUF with 2 phases of SiC 639s is enough

@Ivan Martinez-Kay The VRMs are stellar and all, but to be fair it's on a too competitive price point. My opinions align with Bzs on the fact that I want the Strix F to vanish, and the Strix E's price be pushed down to the Strix F. Makes wayyyy more sense then

i think asus has the right idea focusing on transient response for most people. for someone maxing out vcore for extreme oc then maybe not but for the average person trying to get the highest clock they can on a reasonable voltage this is the way to go. the gigabyte 12 phases z390 boards dont really benefit from llc higher than about medium to high in my testing and i have to wonder if its because of the delay from the doulbers. if i had that board but without doublers i honestly think i could run 1.26 ish for 5ghz instead of the 1.29 im running now, if i were able to use a higher llc that is. the delay just kills any llc higher than about medium or high because by the time the controller corrects for vdroop its too late and the vcore has dropped too much. too fast to register on vcore readout but still there i think. the real truth is they need to get real 14-16 phase controllers in a cost effective controller. theres no reason we cant have a normal priced controller that offers at least 12+2, at least i dont think so. for so long the board makers were in a race to the bottom with all but their most premium boards. saving 1 dollar on a 100,000 boards was all they cared about. if they all started pushing the controller makers for a cost effective controller with 12+2 phases at least they would get it. and they should put that in every board from 150 and up. with those numbers in sales the volume would make it cost effective i think. but every board maker would have to get on board. so even though i think asus is right for most people (even though i bought aorus pro) i think really both designs are compromises that shouldnt be necessary today. with power usage on 14nm and higher core counts on 7nm we need an upgrade from the semiconductor makers. now

In Germany it's 334€ for the Strix-E, 434€ (+100€) for the Hero and 444€ (+110€) for the Hero Wifi. So yes, if you are no Extreme Overclocker and don't like the TUF Wifi board for whatever Reason, you might chose the Strix-E. For me it would be the perfect choice for a 3rd Gen Ryzen...well, the only one left. Gigabyte's Boards have this poor design concept with the M.2/PCIe layout. If I get a 3rd Gen Ryzen and a X570 board, I would like to have the Option for two VGAs as well as a Capture Card, and whoever knows if I need another expansion card one day. Gigabyte just won't provide this much upgradeability. MSIs matching Board (the ACE) just messed up their Sata Port count, so also no option (I need 5 Ports). ASRock kinda feels wrong, and Biostar... C'mon it's Biostar. So yes, the Strix-E is my dream Board for a 3rd Gen Ryzen.
