@@danielbenavides3337 The story is a tad different. He actually liked her vocal, but couldn't come up with a decent mix of it on his own. So it was kept off the initial album release until a friend of his came up with a mix he was satisfied with. Here is a quote from a "Play" retrospective Moby did with Rolling Stone on its 10th anniversary... "Gwen Stefani came into the studio while I was recording Play. And this was when the first No Doubt record was doing really well. So I couldn't figure out why she'd want to go into the studio with me. She was a big rock star and I was a has-been. She came into the studio, she recorded the vocals and she did a great job. But my mixing skills are limited. I couldn't get a mix with her vocals that worked. I tried and I tried. So the first album version didn't have her vocals on it. I went back to it a year later and handed it off to a friend who was a good mixer, and he was able to actually do a mix with her vocals that worked. So, that's why there's two versions."

I remember it was so "appropriate" driving around LA and this playing and up to our drive to San Francisco by the coastal road. Later on it used to remind me of m now wife in a snowy Chicago driving around in a car with her friends. Compared to now, the 2000's seemed so much better.

Some songs in the 90s especially rock songs didn't have a physical single...therefore is not eligible to chart. A good example is Don't Speak. It was number 1 in airplay for 16 weeks but didn't chart because it was never a commercial single. The artist wanted people to buy the album. Nowadays...a major artists releases an album and all the songs chart no matter if they're a single or not. And artists know the game they'll release an album with 20 songs or more. Drake is one who plays the game.

I've always loved this song. It makes me think of traveling. I used to travel and there's still places I wished to experience.

Even though this came out in 1999 I remember hearing all through the early 2000s and wondered who the female vocals were. Didn’t know it was Gwen Stefani! I always remember this song playing when I was a really young kid while my mom drove my sister and I around Phoenix. Good times!

I've always loved this song! I'm from the Southside of Baltimore and that was what we would do as teenagers. Ride around in friends cars looking for trouble to get into! 🖤🖤 Some have come and some have stayed.

Best thing to do on lockdown is watch and jam out to the nostalgia of the 90's and early 2000's music videos and take in the awesomeness of the music. Ahhhhhh.. memories

Lyrics See myself in the pouring home See the light come over now I see myself in the pouring rain I watch hope come over me Here we are now going to the east side I pick up my friends and we start to ride Ride all night, yeah we ride all day Some may come and some may stay Here we are in the pouring home I watch the light man fall the comb I watch a light move across the screen I watch the light come over me Here we are now going to the west side Weapons in hand as we go for a ride Some may come and some may stay Watching out for a sunny day Where there's Love and darkness and my sidearm Hail on and on Here we are now going to the north side I look at my friends as they start to ride Ride at night, yeah we ride all day Looking out for a sunny day Here we are now going to the south side I pick up my friends and we hope we won't die Ride at night, ride through heaven and hell Come back and feel so well
