I wish you all could have been there for the annual "Easter Bonnet Parade", the Drag Races (short 1k & 2k races where all participants ran in heels and full drag), the rooftop Sumo wrestling matches, and Sophie B. I just met a guy this week overseeing a roof being put on my elderly folks' home, all is going wrong in my world right now with my elderly folks whom I dearly love and both of them were in the hospital, my Mom still there fighting. Tonight this kind man, super busy running a large crew came by my folks' house to meet me there because the work crew had left something behind in the backyard. Last week I had to call the ambulance for my Dad while they were roofing & this guy was so kind, compassionate, understanding & actually cared. Tonight I think we could have talked for hours if the evening wasn't already spoken for by our respective commitments but an hour later, & a genuine feeling hug...after I drove home & walked into my condo I heard this song's lyric, damn wish I was your lover"...who knows, stranger things happen to people! ;) I had to play it & stamp the moment with song

they ruined the ENTIRE SERIES with that one rogue storyline. Pretty sure it happened like that because behind the scenes, Jennie was edging out Shannon. And she did it.I watched the series in real time and the affair between dylan and kelly was out of nowhere. there was literally NOTHING that was building on anything between those two.. dylan and kelly, so something happened that year.. behind the scenes. The original series changed its' original trajectory. The original would have been so much better. I stopped watching, after it stopped making any kind of sense.

Not only is this song filled with nostalgia, it has held its staying power for many year. Not to mention that if you follow the lyrics, it emplies shes singing to another woman, which at this time was rare and taboo. It's amazing and wonderful. Even if it turns out thats not the actual case, the fact it could be seen this way and still is well celebrated is really heartwarming.

Memories from NY, subways and cold winter mornings of 1991... gosh each and everytime i listen to this track, it takes me back to that spot...instantly. Everytime i play this tune, it is usually 3/4 times in a row...31 yrs later it gives me the same chill.
