Just a minor correction: @ 18:49 , that equation should be d/dt ( x ) = L * x and not d/dt ( x_dot ) = L * x

you are right. The velocity needs to be in negative x direction. Professor makes a correction later in the video.

I found something odd: at 25:40 if D=SLS^-1 then S^-1 is the set of eigenvectors not S. People do not use it this way, I think it is much better to write D=(S^-1)DS.
@mathieumaticien4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think he meant LS = SD => L = SDS^{-1} => D = S^{-1}DS

Can someone please explain in brief the stuff at the end about solvability, integrability and that the system cannot be solved but can be computed?
@srinibashpatra50864 жыл бұрын
By the Integrability Prof.Bala means he cannot give a solution to the set of equations using which we can get the answer.But nevertheless getting the value at specific point is never tough as by putting in the point in differential equations we can get the velocity. But generalising into a specific formula is tough. This is what I could understand.Correct me if I'm wrong.
@siddhantrathi53784 жыл бұрын
@@srinibashpatra5086 Integrability means the ability to find the particular combination of functions that satisfy the given conditions (the general solution of the differential equations) whereas Solvability means the ability to find the value at 1 point, using approximation techniques. This is what I understood from what you told. Sounds good?
