Yeah, i agree completely. It makes every enemy encounter more thrilling since you don't know enemy stats and have to be careful. Also for immersion sake i don't use any fast travel and i don't use maps outside of big towns or cities.

Do you have any tips on combat? I get destroyed white trying to melee and shield..their attack always goes through my shield

Skyrim's vanilla shields only reduce damage taken, try bashing to avoid damage. or check out mods that add parry to the game, like blade and blunt or the sekiro mod

You could try adjusting the melee and block settings in the MCM. There is a mod called "Simply balanced", where you can adjust the blocking settings like how much stamina it uses and the amount of damage shields blocks, enemy damage, etc. You can also change the damage % you do with one handed or two handed weapons from there aswell. Simply balanced is included in the FUS profile. Hope this helps. 😊

What mod do you enable for the removal of the health bars?

Sorry for really late response. Yes, in the mod manager that is installed with the FUS modlist, there is mod section called Optional Interface. There is two mods that i have enabled to get rid of the huds. First is Clear HUD VR (all option), this removes my stats, compass and other unnecessary hud elements. Second mod is called Minimal Enemy Healthbar VR (no bar at all option), this removes everything in hud that is enemy related. Hope this helps. :)

Yes, i downloaded a modpack called FUS modlist. It was made by Kvitekvist and Cangar. It's basically an complete pack filled with mods that work together. It has several profiles that enable certain mods. That's where it gets its name FUS aka Fundamentals, Updates, and Stuff. I am running the FUS RO DAH profile, plus i enabled couple mods that sounded/felt good on top of everything. I can provide a link for the modlist if you require it. I have just installed this but I can not work out how to change what weapons and stuff that are equipped to the orbs

Go to your inventory and mark an item as favorite, then that item will appear in the fast equip wheel

I have the full fus ro dah profile selected and my game looks like absolute shit compared to this vid and i have no idea why, im even using a link cable instead of virtual desktop to play and it still looks terrible. Idk what im doing wrong

Hmmm, this is a tough one, since there is so many settings that could interfere with the quality. What resolution are you using and what gpu you have? Even for my 3080, i had to lower my resolution and few settings and optimize my obs recording settings. This game with mods is harder to run than Half Life Alyx or Bonelabs. If you want, i could take screenshots from my different settings that affect performance and quality, so that you can check if we have differences somewhere.

Also, did you remember to enable the opencomposite mod from the modlist? This with oculus set to active openxr runtime bypasses steam and for many users increased performance. And for me atleast, using any upscaler like dlss and fsr caused huge amount of flickering, so i am not using any of those.

I have the ugly issue and for me it was open composite, if I close that and use steam VR, set super sample to 1.3 in oculus and crank as high as the 4090 lets me then this and fallout look insane. It was open composite stoping reshade working too.

Thank you for the insight. I have to double check that my reshade is working with open composite. I am using a reshade that was specifically made to VR. Although I have been satisfied and often amazed at the graphic quality i am getting with my current setup.

problem i have with most of these modlists have weapon sheaths, weapon throwing, and the voice recognition mod. first doesnt work well for me. second is immersion breaking. and the third doesnt work well. keeps swapping out my weapons without input. and im too impatient to figure out how to disable them all.
