In the efficiency comparison to the LR, try the "chill-mode". According to a dyno test, the performance is then identical to an LR. Maybe you could also do a practice test between the two, which affects acceleration and deceleration to make the performance differences visible.

Fun fact: The 0.5% odometer difference is the same as less than a 2mm wear of you tires!. If your rolling diameter is D= 30 inches,, D * 0.005 = 0.15 inch on the diameter and half on the radius, i.e. 0.075 * 25.4mm = 1.9mm. Your smaller tires runs faster and the odometer will increase. From a new 8mm tire down ti the legal thread limit of a millionth of a US mile, you can expect an increase of around 3 x 0.5% = 1.5% in speed and odometer reading.

When you change tires the car prompts you to enter what size tire you installed. I think that's correct because it would've been a bigger error, probably something smaller like tire pressure.

i think the supercharger are only "putting out" 118 kW since they use a quater system .. they have 30 kW charging units in the cabin and assign up to 4 to a supercharger stall stall (that way they can maximize utilization .. and thats also why you get reduced speed when plugging into a stall that is shared with one thats already loading another car .. the first car gets 1 charger taken away and only charge with 90 kW and you get that 1 charger to charge with 30kWunitl the first car is around the 60kW then it gets switched to 2/2 and both cars get 60 kW .. etc) ... and the 2 kW lost there are propably charging loss over the cable length from where the charger units are housed to the car

@maldiesmaldas
@maldiesmaldas 5 жыл бұрын
Hákân K the degradation isn‘t linear. For the first 20k or so the degradation is relativley strong, but then it decreases and has an slightly flat linear trend. I think 10% degradation after 100k is realistic, what corresponds to 50 km, depending on driving and charging behavior of course. But we will see, when he repeats the test in future. Last week Bjorn released a video about thr degradation of his former Model X after 100k.

Hi Jamie, I'm interested to know this also. It the voltage drop off looked very steep between 3% (319 volts) and 4% (328.5 volts). It has levelled off considerably by the time we saw 29% SOC (372.3 volts). I'm guessing at 100% it is 410 volts (the max voltage output of V2 superchargers). The steepness of the voltage drop off approaching empty suggests that 0% SOC might be as low as 285 volts (or 295 volts at the most).

Maybe the car keeps a teeny bit of reserve for driving below 0km range left.

Yep, most manufacturers do this when the consumer expects to be able to use something to zero. There’s inherent uncertainty to the remaining capacity, so it’s very common to add a little extra bit below zero to account for this. In addition to that, deep discharges are much worse for the battery than charging higher, so it’s common to add even a bit extra the car will never let you use to protect the battery.

Zar TheMad Yes, this is exactly why they intentionally add some buffer to the low end. It’s much more complicated than that though, so it may stop driving before 0%, that does not mean the battery is dead. It more likely means one cell string hit a low voltage cutoff, which is more likely if the battery is cold, under high load, or both. The car will most likely drive further if you drive very slowly at low state of charge, and flooring it everywhere with a cold battery will likely cut off early. This just means a cell hit too low voltage before the car expected. It could be from more degradation than expected, or higher internal resistance than expected. Either way, that’s what a buffer at the bottom is designed to prevent. But if you add capacity below 0%, you can’t use it for the estimated driving range on the window sticker, so you’re paying for a larger battery that consumers don’t ‘see’, so they try and minimize the amount below zero and sometimes it may stop early.

Hallo. Also von der Grösse her tiptop. LG ( Die die kein Deutsch können einfach mit Google übersetzen lassen)

ok ok good video as always but you're so focused on range testing, try and remember that alot of us are still driving basic fossils. why not demo and test all the features that us fossil people don't have. tyre pressure sensors, emergency breaking, people detection, auto following cars in traffic jams. i think you've got so used to the tech you've forgotten about what we don't don't have

What is the sense of this test when you drive around in a pretty unrealistic speed? At the distances in Norway who would stay 20 km/h below (the already low) speed limit?

This is not a range test but battery capacity test. He intentionally uses low power since that gives more accurate measurement.

Because the last time I supercharged was in Sweden. You can't see it on the screen, but it refers to the last supercharging location in Uddevalla.
