The plans are coming along nicely now Michael. The hand built track always looks better than the usual preformed track but I have never had the patience to make it myself, I always want to get the track laid quickly so hats off to you for do that. Robin

+Milton Mo Junction Thanks Robin, Yeah I thought that too, hopefully I don't regret going this route half way through when I get to a point of really wanting to run trains. Cheers, Michael

+John Carvil Thanks John, It is a really nice loco, just need to add a DCC chip and sound. Track making isn't too difficult once you get used to it, Just very time consuming. Cheers, Michael

Excellent update Michael. Really good to see a track plan going down. As with others that have commented I take my hat of to you building your own track. It will give you maximum flexibility but, goodness you are going to be getting your money back on that saw in cutting the sleepers. I think the Coronation Class loco looks fine too and I can understand why you couldn't resist. Graham Farish expect to have an early emblem BR Coronation Class available in the next month or so (on a boat from China). I am being good so far in not ordering one... so far

+Stephen Humphreys Thanks Stephen, My shoddy woodworking skills have given me a little camber on the curve which is an enexpected bonus! Hopefully it's not too steep. It will be interesting to see how scratch building holds up, it's part of the reason for going with a single line, abit quicker to make and less to cry over if it goes horribly wrong lol. Oh I bet you will find an excuse to need.. I mean want to get it lol. Cheers, Michael

Hi again, Yes it was a timing issue. After speaking with John and checking the Zimmo manual I see there are 2 Cv's controlling the acceleration & deceleration profiles built into the decoder. I turned these off and lo and behold problem fixed. Still got fine tuning to do as the iTrain (28 steps) launches the Loco too quickly for a realistic start but I think that has just about cracked automatic control so sticking with 'iTrain'.

Great update Michael, Always admired hand built track but never had a go at it myself (yet). Really like the look of the layout so far, recon its going to be very impressive when done.

+JAMES DEMU Thanks James, Yeah I have admired many layouts like that (usually em or P4) so I thought I'd give it a go. Luckily with doing a single track line should hopefully make it less time consuming. Cheers, Michael

+Blame USA Haha I could fit in a mega layout if I went N gauge but I prefer 00 for a few reasons

Great update but I do think in time you will regret only having a single line as I did a similar layout and only being able to run one loco round got quite boaring very quickly, I am now building a 4 line layout which will give much more running potental and as I have two levels the one level will hide the other which is where I am going to have a countryside section otherwise its looking great.

+ROBS TRAINS Thanks for your comment, It is possible I might regret it but I have always wanted to create one as it's something I prefer. I am sure something with a lot more track will happen later. Cheers

Hi Michael, I see in a previous post on Johns Goodison Road you suggested you were going to change from 'iTrain' to 'Train controller'. Have you got anywhere with the change? I have 'iTrain' automation almost cracked but am having trouble with that enigmatic message "train did not arrive in time". It seems to be a misunderstanding between 'iTrain' and my Zimmo sound decoders not agreeing about acceleration/speed times. I am messaging John about it but am near to binning it if Train Controller is as good as you say.

Hi Geoffrey, I haven't got around to buying either yet as I am holding off as long as possible before brexit to get the latest version at the cheapest price, I also don't have a full loop of track at the moment so there is not much point. I am still leaning more towards train controller as it offers alot more I think. (Someone has done an extensive range of video tutorials on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp-sk4dtf9hmi80 ) Have you speed profiled your loco's yet? As your saying it's sounding like a timing issue it could be as simple as that. Might be worth you checking the itrain forum or contacting www.dcctrainautomation.co.uk as the owner of that place helped John get setup I believe and has had alot of training on iTrain. Sorry I couldn't be of much more help. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers, Michael
