That's a lot of wiring. Great that you labeled everything for trouble shooting. High quality railroading!

You are a true craftsman George. I admire your work under the table as well as above. I am a retired electrician and can appreciate neat wiring and terminating. Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Kevin! I really appreciate it. So glad to hear from an electrician and gain your approval. I actually tried very hard to create raceways and have proper bends and terminations like I see on jobsites, and in well installed electrical panels, but due to the amount of all the tracks, switches, lighting, motors etc., and their locations, it basically required connections almost everywhere. Therefore, I kept the runs grouped together as much as possible and then bend and go directly to the termination point. I had to keep slack though at most of the terminations in case I needed to replace a section of track, or feature. This resulted in some dangling wires under the table (slack) otherwise it would have looked much neater. I really tried to keep it as need as possible! Thanks again, and thanks for watching!

Hey George, Very cleanly done. How much went according to plan and how much needed to be modified when you actually ran the wiring? Wiring my new layout is the only thing that intimidates me. Can you recommend any good books or video series that helped you? Yours is one of the finest layout on KZbin or anywhere else I've seen. Did you design it to be able to move the layout without a lot of effort, if necessary? C'mon, everybody! George makes informative and entertaining videos. Share them with others and let's get him to 1K subscribers. Thanks, George, for all your effort on your viewers behalf. I, for one, really appreciate it and eagerly await your next video.

HI Tom! Thank you so much. I know exactly how you feel and my advice to you, is don't feel intimidated. You can do it. I will help you as much as I can by explaining it in upcoming videos. In this case 95% went according to plan, and 5% required modification. This is my third layout since starting ten years ago, and I have learned a lot from the first two layouts. When I Built my first layout, it was 25% according to plan and 75% heavily modified to try and make work somehow. When it came time to build the second layout, it was more like 65% according to plan and 35% modified. Before building this 3rd layout though, I really took the time to make a solid plan and troubleshoot the systems. I took notes and made wiring diagrams as I planned the layout. I also made test samples to make sure things worked, and that I had the right materials. I really wanted to make this one right and to the best of my ability. After all, I had two layouts under my belt at this point that I had learned lessons from, so almost all of it went to according to plan thankfully. Also, when I built my first layout, I was inexperienced and thought it would be a good idea to build it solid. so solid, that when I tried to take it apart, I couldn't. I had to cut it all up and rip it apart and throw it all away including all the track. I learned never to do that again. When I took apart the second layout, I was able to salvage most of it as I built it carefully, with the intent of one day taking it all apart again and reusing a lot of the parts on this new layout. Believe it or not, this new layout is built to easily come apart relatively quickly if the need ever arises. (If I move or expand again in the future). I really appreciate the shout out Tom!!! I'm really trying very hard to make good quality and informative videos that people enjoy. I am very grateful to you and my loyal viewers that I consider all friends. It's you, and viewers like you that keep me motivated to keep going, that's for sure! Otherwise, I would have given up a while ago. Thank you again my friend.
