As I watched this and listened through the flights I came to several conclusions that I heard you confirm at least one of. This is a beautiful model, probably one of if not the best F86 out there right now. The other is it sounds incredible I utterly said to myself how real it sounded and then you did. As always you did a terrific job and as far as the oops, We all make mistakes. Fortunately it ended it ok. Happy New year my friend!

Beautiful landing, it keeps wanting to roll for days, wish it had reverse thrust. Ive found pushing full down elevator after touchdown helps to slow it down more. Tried full up elevator the first time and it wanted to go up again. It has a surprisingly good glide slope and very slippery.
@ModelAV8RChannel8 ай бұрын
Thanks. From what you're describing you are coming in too hot. After touchdown if it still wants to fly you're going too fast. Stall it on to the mains. Notice after our second landing it slowed right down and didn't roll very far. It is just a matter of getting the nose up earlier, getting it slower, and touchdown speed. On our first I was too hot and wasted runway.

Hey man! It is a really great jet. I'm loving the new trend of putting this many features/details on a 80mm. There's a few out there now and they are all great so far. I wish the battery bay was a tad bigger. I have 10 HRB 6000's I'd like to be using in it, but there is no way I can shoe horn them in there. 4 min is good though for a scale EDF I guess.
@alwaysflying65408 ай бұрын
@ModelAV8RChannel i really like the way it lands and how you kept the nose high. It looked really slick. How does the jet point roll? Does it get weird on knife edge? Can you get in the fuselage with a hot knife cutter and take foam out to get bigger packs in it?
@ModelAV8RChannel8 ай бұрын
I love the wheelie action too! It point rolls well, but I didn't even try a pure knife edge. I'll have to give that a go. There is not really any room to take foam away from the hatch. All the scale bits are just above it, not much foam between. The Spektrums are compact, and I hear the bigger SMC's and Gens Ace are too. I gotta try some. I'd like to find a small 5500 and try that. Width isn't the issue, its height, and the screw heads for the pilot are right there even with the foam on the bottom of the hatch. I could probably eek out 4 1/2 minutes with the 5000, but I'd have to really be paying attention to throttle management.
@alwaysflying65408 ай бұрын
@ModelAV8RChannel ah gotcha. I have a better understanding of the battery placement now. Both 80mm that I'm flying at the moment are also limited by battery size. My flights are 3.5 minute's stretched to 4 minutes if absolutely necessary. Is it too much to ask for a 7 minute flights, lol

Adam really nice review. I dont understand why they didn't use a sequencer that cycles that nose door shut ala the full scale. Really like how it rides the mains on landing. I really want one of these. Great job on the vid.
@ModelAV8RChannel7 ай бұрын
Thanks very much. Is this Rodger, Brent's dad? It is a great flyer for sure. I'm not sure why they didn't use a sequencer. It would definitely make a big difference is scale fidelity and probably make it more grass strip friendly. It's FMS, so a V2 will happen at some point. Hopefully that is a change they make.

Great build info and review. Disappointed to hear that a HRB 5000 doesn't fit. Would it fit with some foam cut out or is it more than just a little?
@ModelAV8RChannel7 ай бұрын
Thanks Scott. You can force the hatch shut, but there is a noticeable gap. The way the bottom of the hatch is made the lowest part is the screws that hold the pilot in the cockpit, and that is what gets ya.

Hi Adam. I have been waiting for your review on this model. As usual, awesome job. Mine is on the way. I have heard of lots of folks stripping the speed brake servos. I am still confused on the travel limit you pointed out. I plan to use a three position switch on my NX10. Can the brakes be set up for three position? Once you assign a switch for the brakes, how do you know they won't try to close further instead of open when you first bind, as you would not necessarily know the servo direction relative to your digital switch direction in the transmitter. Hope that makes sense. Has me a bit stumped. (AR836) Thank you so much! Dale.
@ModelAV8RChannel8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching Dale, glad you like our channel. So before you ever power it up and bind it, once you have the brakes plugged into the RX and you have them assigned to a channel/switch in you TX ...go in the servo travel menu and turn the travel down from 100% to 50% in both of the switch positions. You'll see two 100%, one right on top of the other. One is one switch position, and the other is the other position. Even if you are using a three position switch, it will highlight the two positions in the two "end" positions of the switch (so not the middle position). Now you can power it up and bind it. The brakes will be partially open. Go back into the servo travel menu and now you can adjust the brakes on the two ends, just increase the travel until they are where you want them to be in both positions.

Awesome flight and aircraft!...👍🏾😊Between this one and the F9F-8 Cougar 80mm, which one do you think is better? I was debating between these two jets but ended up picking the Cougar. I picked the Cougar because of the pre-installed Gyro and, most importantly, the reverse thrust feature this jet comes with. I love the way the Cougar flies, but this one looks alike. What are your thoughts? Thumbs-up for your video 👍🏾 Have a great day 😀 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵 🦠 😷 🇵🇷 Like #21

Thank you Ricardo! For me personally I like the F-86 more in general, one of my favorite all time jets. That said both of them are great airplanes. Neither of them is perfectly scale, but almost no model is and the discrepancies are easy to rectify on both if you are a "scale guru". They both fly amazing. I'd say pick the one you personally like the most and you'll be happy. Both are quality machines.

@ricardopr54 cougar is faster and can handle a 6s 10000 pack for 7 min flight time no issues, f86 is slower but still flies beautifully. I'm not a speed demon and personally I like the look of the sabre more. Cougar probably handles grass ops better than the sabre. I was debating between the two as well before getting the sabre. It's a tough call !

Hello Adam. Thank you so much for your help. I just got my F-86 and I am putting it together. I have watched a couple of set up videos, and I can't for the life of me find any helpful info on the wiring. There is a very short servo lead coming from the bottom of the circuit board. (CH5C maybe). Do you have any idea what that lead is for? tI seems as though the longer single wire for the gear plugs into your receiver and it connects to what apparently is the sequencer. Is that single "gear" wire the only one needed for all of the gear and doors to work correctly? That very short lead is just not addressed anywhere that I can find. Again, love your videos, and greatly appreciate your help. Dale.
@ModelAV8RChannel7 ай бұрын
Dale the short wire is a programming wire you won't use. Yes, the one plug marked gear is the only one you need to plug in for the gear. Great plane. You'll love it.
