Hello thanks for doing these very informative tuts. I have a question, at 2:34 when I click on the circle nothing happens. i see alot of videos of this on youtube about how to create stylised hair with curves. but no one has ever talked about how to convert that hair to a low poly mesh thats actually usable for rigging/animation/exporting purposes. curves do an amazing job but even at its lowest resolution, the poly count is just way too high to be usable.

I have a really important question, is it possible to separate the Bezier Circle from the NurbsPath, like let's say you're making a character in blender and then you have the BezierCircles that are in the way, is it possible to get rid of the Bezier Circles and keep the hair but as a object?
@StudioKavod3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, with the hair object selected and in object mode, hit Ctrl +T. That sounds convert to mesh. If it doesn't, search for the convert to mesh option at the top of the 3d viewport

If you were to use the model for a game in unity, would you convert the hair paths into mesh and add armature bones if you want to make it move?

Yup, that's exactly what you would do. You might also want to use a decimate modifier to remove some of the vertices from each hair stand

This questions is really late haahah, but will this method for modeling hair work for 3D printing the object? Thanks!

Sir Pink Beard! I'm so happy to have stumbled across your tutorial series! You're doing a great job.. I love the format. I have a question about this type of hair design.. What do you consider the most practical way to get this hair to animate? Do I parent the path to the characters bones? Or do I need to convert them to mesh first? I'm planning on doing all of my animating inside of Blender, so I don't really need to worry about exporting anything.. Either way, great tutorial. I look forward to seeing many more.
@StudioKavod4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, my plan is to convert them to mesh, join them all together and then add it to the body rig. Also, glad you like the video!

G (to move what is selected), then X (to lock the movement to the x axis), then 2 to move the path all the way over because paths are 4 blender units long 2 on each side of the origin.
