Dope! I’m going to try this next time. I ended up getting a AD300pro with a link through one of your Instagram stories. That flash is perfect.

I'm kind of old school and like the longer lens look of 11:33 Another benefit of the modeling lamps, LED specifically, are the ones that have variable color temperature sliders, so you can match to the scene if desired. I was using strobes with 250w halogen lamps back in the 80s thru till about 5 years ago. There wasn't nearly as many options. On the red wall shots, I'd be inclined to put a grid on the octa to keep the spill off the wall, but again personal choice. Thanks for your insightful BTS and excellent work of final examples.

Thank you for sharing this essential knowledge in portrait photography. I found you thru your site in instagram where you show different stages of taking each of your images which shows other photographers briefly how you create a beautiful portrait shot. Therefore not only do I follow you in Instagram, but also I follow you here. It would be nice that in some of your videos, you talk about the price of these lights, so people similar to me get good ideas about which one would be suitable to their budget.

Great video! What about the color and temperature of the modeling lamp, specifically in the Godox products you mentioned? What white balance do you use when shooting outdoor with the modeling lamp? I use an AD400Pro and V1 and I noticed when using the flash light my photos don’t come out quite the same with and without the modeling lamp, have you encountered this kind of continuous light “leak” which seems to not shut down quickly enough when flash triggers?

I have been following you for a while now and absolutely LOVE your videos. You are so detailed and easy to follow. But I notice you do a lot of work with only one person. Can you do some some videos on couples. I do a few engagement shoots and always try to incorporate your thoughts into my photography but it don't always work. I use a ad 300 hoodoo light with a 70in circular softbox. On a 7D mk ii. Can you do more couple shoots please!

I have the studio Godox SK400ii v, it has a good modelling lamp on there, are the modelling lamps on strobe lights only designed to be used for short periods? is it ok to leave it on for 10 mins of shoots? or is a dedicated constant light more ideal? Thanks, Jeff

Hi Francisco, I really enjoy all of your videos. Is the modeling lamp on the Godox AD200pro strong enough or would you recommend to get the AD300 if I plan to do shoots like your night shoots a lot of times? gracias

Any thoughts on the rotolight? Just thinking perhaps having the capability of modeling and burst. I'm 100% godox but seen the value of a rotolight in low light situations.
@blinkfan3393 жыл бұрын
Good point about the pupil size. What's the smallest Godox light that has a modelling lamp? The V1?
@Smoothblue903 жыл бұрын
The new AD100 has a modeling lamp but I think I read it's only like 1.8 watts. I think the AD400 pro right now has the most wattage modeling lamp.
@blinkfan3393 жыл бұрын
@@Smoothblue90 Fair enough, but the 400 is over twice the price where I am. Guess I'll stick with getting an ad200 and give up on the lamp.

So, I get why to use the modeling lamp on the flash. I have never used it but, my question is does it stay on for the shoot or when you snap your photo does it turn off the flash turn on and then modeling lamp back on? Am, I missing something? Thanks
@realamericannegro9778 ай бұрын
Modeling lamps usually stay on for the older strobes but the power doesn't effect the flash exposure since its weaker than flash.
