I just store it in a plastic bag, and make sure I squeeze as much air out as possible. Then I store it in a second bag and squeeze the air outside that one as well. Works like a charm.

I've got the same type of clay and i have had it for about 5 months. I've only used half of it. I just fold the end over and put it in a tub. It's perfectly fine and is the same as when i first bought it.
@herpderpina75997 жыл бұрын
I usually add some water into the bag and close it into couple of freezer bags and that keeps it soft for weeks. Sometimes I add more water into it if I haven't used it for a long time to make sure it doesn't dry out. :)
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, adding a bit of water does go a long way to keeping the clay moist.

Thank you for an awesome tips. Do you have a suggestion which clay to be used if it's for cooking purposes? My daughter wants to create a cooking pot and pan using clay that she can use for real cooking rpg. Thanks in advance😊😊😊
@JokerLaugh5 жыл бұрын
Hmmmmm, that's a tricky one. Never used a clay for that exact purpose. I suppose to use with real food, I would look more into the proper Kiln clay that actually makes real pots when heated. Sorry, I could not be more help :)

Does this clay get everywhere? Like...is it messy?
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
No, not really, Maybe if you drop a bit in the carpet or something. It more seems to create a clay residue on your hands and little bits can flake off, but nothing to worry about.

How long does it take to dry and is it good to make sculptures?
@JokerLaugh6 жыл бұрын
It is a good clay to use for a simple sculpt and brilliant for beginners, but if you want a highly detailed sculpt, I would suggest looking into Super Sculpey Clay or Aves Apoxie clay. As for how long to dry... it all depends on how thick you make your sculpt. If it's thin... just a few hours. If it is fat, maybe a few days to a week.
@wbc50587 жыл бұрын
Nice. Which is better aves epoxy sculp or this?
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
By far Aves is the better clay to work with and hardens much stronger, but it is also more expensive. What I do is I use Aves to sculpt small stuff and make corrections on say models or figures, but if you are making something big like say a column or base (floor) then Air drying clay is better and more cost effective..... you can also sculpt big 95% air drying clay and then go over the last 5% with Aves to give it a hard shell so to speak.
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
If interested, I am currently building a Medusa model and I am currently making a big column with Air drying clay and also parts of Aves Apoxie. It could give you some ideas of what I meant above. WIP pics here: facebook.com/pg/jokerlaugh1/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1181862965244543

When I do some works it cracks after drying what should I do?
@JokerLaugh4 жыл бұрын
You can either lightly spray the clay with water from time to time to keep the clay softer over a longer drying time, (this helps a bit but you will still find cracks). The best method is to just let the crack appear as normal and once fully dry, give them a bit of super glue and once the glue is dry, fill in the cracks with white pollyfilla.

Thank you for the advice

how long does this clay take to dry?
@JokerLaugh8 жыл бұрын
Depends on how thick you make it, if its fin, just a few hours. If its quick thick and chunky, I would leave it a few days.

Have u tried using hair dryer to dry it?
@nash-a-one7 жыл бұрын
Hi when the sulpt dries but you havent finished the sculpt, is it possible to heat the das clay and would this soften it. I ask as i saw someone use this method but there was no mention of what type of clay it was, whether polymer or drying. Thanks in advance
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
Heat will dry it out sooner and probably crack it water makes it all mushy, your best sculpting it as and when you use it. You can use Das clay to make a generic shape and then use a better clay over that to sculpt your details... I suggest Aves Apoxie clay.
@nash-a-one7 жыл бұрын
Joker Laugh, yes we said. Should have realised that LOL😂 So the other clay was potters clay then? I swear that used a heaat gun on the clay and it became soft. Very puzzling🤔
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think that would most probably be a different style of clay.

@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
You can add a bit of water and seal it away in a bag. A few days later, the clay should be moist and soft again.

As long as air can not get to it, yeah sure. But a re-sealable bag would be easier and you wouldn't have to keep using tape.

Its way to difficult to take out your clay from package if u do it the way you are saying. Much easier to take out the whole thing out and once you are done using it, just wrapp it on a moisturized rag and then place it on a ziplock bag! Ah! Don’t forget to knead the clay before using it, it will become waaaay much easier to sculpt with it😉

Is das clay safe?
@JokerLaugh7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't contain any toxic or harmful materials no, It can leave a crusty residue on your hands, but a simple hand wash after use gets rid of it.
