I know this is an older video, but that plastic knife trick to make the grass stand up was absolute genius.

Looks great on the base.. I've done a few of that series myself, they are brilliant value and the detailing at that scale is surprisingly good. The King Tiger is exceptionally good, as is the Tiger 1.

zvezda are brilliant when it comes to detail, i tend to buy there 1/72 figures as they're the most detailed i have seen so far, and the fact that they are in piece mean that its easier to paint the had to reach details.

I built few zvesda 1/100 stuff ... Sturmtiger is good The mighty 88 is a brilliant kit with 4 figures should be manned by 8 but they could have poped to the shops for bratwurst. Opel blitz truck is amazing for the size and could be used with this as a ambush setting. two kits you should buy are the German luft ground and soviets crew they are can i swear? Absolutely foofing amazing and detailed beyond belief. As for the static grass get a ballon and rub it on your head .... wala static grass applicator 😁 dont tie it as when you deflate it you can recover all the grass as it sticks to the ballon 😂. EDIT: Oops sorry forgot to complement your build ..but you know i love it 💚
@ModelMinutes5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'll have to investigate those kits! I did think about the balloon but at the time I didn't have any, so the knife was the next option :)
@vasili12075 жыл бұрын
@@ModelMinutes Hehe the Ballon trick works quite well for small areas especially for grass tufts. I made a diy applicator out of a fly swatter last week and to be honest its no better than the ballon 😁. But grab that air crew if nothing else i highly recommend that for 1/72 planes ... i paid £3 each so not expensive 👍.. you can convert the soviet air crew to german easy if you want more crew in different poses just sand off the pockets on the uniforms . Take it easy fella ✌

Great video Matt, these Zvezda 1/100 scale tank kits are fun kits . I'm working on the 5 turreted Zvezda 1/100 scale T-35. Unlike your little M3 ,that soviet beast has the same length as an average 1/72 or 1/76 scale tank kit. BTW you can make D.I.Y static grass applicator, made from an electric fly swatter, a tea strainer & alligator clip. You can find tutorials on how to make one on KZbin
@ModelMinutes5 жыл бұрын
ooooooo i might have to look up that grass applicator!
@ShuttleFactoryScaleModels5 жыл бұрын
@@ModelMinutes I made myself one and it works quite well. I use it all the time when I'm applying my static grass. In fact one can make one for less than 25 dollars

Random thought ref the base.. maybe lay the track in the tacky painted tracks so that when it lifts off the treads look like they were made by the tank? The bottom of the track won't be visible on the finished model anyway.

yeah, i might do that on a future project

You definitely know what you're doing, but gotta say.. a cheap pair of cutters does wonders for your workflow instead of the hobby knife (for sprue cutting)! Also, have you looked into weathering with oils? So easy and forgiving!
@ModelMinutes5 жыл бұрын
I do have snips, but i find that sometimes they might damage the part when it's being removed from the sprue, which is why I often resort to a knife. I've not tried oils, but I might have to in the future! Thanks for watching :)
