Agree 10 trillion percent about 81-85. That was the "80's" that most of us remember (music wise). It was still in it's "raw" form in those years, and after 85 started to formalize. Still great after 85, but definitely headed for the 90's after that.

When I was 10 years old, I was enchanted by Robbie Grey when I saw him in the original video of "Melt with you" taking off his sunglasses. That song turned into a fuel to make me feel that everything "it's getting better all the time". I never realized that (based in the lyrics) the "melt" was literal :-p :-D :-) In despite than Modern English is a new wave/post-punk band, they accidentally created a pop record than made them famous in and offshore England. I love it!

Songs put you in a time and place. I was hiking on a trail with my high school classmates. I had borrowed my brothers Aiwa cassette Walkman. I was listening to this song and tuned everyone out. It was just me and nature. I LOVE this song!! That puts a smile on my face 💚 Then we saw two men carry a dead deer that they’ve probably killed. I was angry & sad, and still repulsed today. Ruined my hike. He looks and sounds great!
