Cool storage. Friendly tip - you shouldn't be burn greenwood like that indoors. It's highly inefficient due to the moisture content and the smoke it produces can cause build up in your chimney that can later become a fire hazard. The smoke can also have a harsh smell to it that gets into your home. You should let the wood dry out properly first.
@kiowablue2862
@kiowablue2862 Жыл бұрын
Yep. Green or wet wood shouldn't be burned in ANY woodburnng heater. Creosote burns at 2500°F.

Just a thought, what about pocket holes to attach cubbies to backer board?
@kiowablue2862
@kiowablue2862 Жыл бұрын
If you're speaking of cement backerboard, like the type used in a wet environemnt, you really don't want that suff out in the open. Especially where it might be subject to rubbing/scuffing. The silica dust generated when that happens is some fairly bad stuff. (can cause lung disease) It works OK when used as intended because it's usually installed under ceramic tile.

You shouldn't store firewood inside your home like this and the reason is, is that the bark inside and underneath is full of insects, bugs and they're unhatched eggs just waiting to invade the wood and furniture inside your home when you bring it inside ( one big inside invite ) leave your firewood outside, in the garage or in a good sealed concrete basement firewood room until needed.
@kiowablue2862
@kiowablue2862 Жыл бұрын
I've read that one should keep the amount to 1 or 2 days worth. i.e. don't store large quantities of it near your house.
@Ghoststalker777
@Ghoststalker777 Жыл бұрын
@@kiowablue2862 It only takes seconds once you bring firewood inside your home for them bugs to start exploring and lay eggs. If you want your house/furniture full of bugs then go right ahead. Make sure you keep a Pest Control phone # handy for the Termites that start eating your home.🐛🪳🐝

@@Ghoststalker777 NO argument there. Damn bugs are quick when it comes to home invasion. I meant that one shouldn't store more than 1 or two days worth NEAR your house. (let alone INSIDE it!) i.e. don't put in in your garage, on your patio, etc., keep it at least a few yards from any buildings. I keep mine 50-60 feet from my house.
